Daddy was a hummer, mama was an airstream...

Annett, My teardrop is a Little Guy delux. They have a web site under teardrop trailers. You can see a picture of mine with the weeee1 pulling it.(weeee1 is my car plate). I am also on CINCI MINIS .com (spring into summer 05).I to was going to build mine but my wife said that at my age and speed, it could serve as an unfinished teardrop or a casket with wheels!!! So the hunt began. I chose Little Guy because it is only 680 lbs., made of fiberglass, has a very good factory dealership system and was impressed with the fit & finish. I ordered mine without graphics and added my own, as I did with the WEEEE1. I named it THE POD. The kelty screen house weighs 19 lbs., is 12 by 12 by 8 ft. It can be put up over the pod or beside it or not used at all. I am very happy with the car-camper combination It probably would not meet everyones idea of a camper, but it is bear proof...(I think!)

Campers at Fontana Village campground

I'll be bringing our RV to the MOTD and wanted to see who else is planning to camp there too. This is our first time out there and wanted to see who will be our neighbors while we are down there.

We are coming in from Missouri and have "Gunner" on a trailer until we get there and free him up to run around there.

We're tent camping at Fontana. I've never been there before either, and I'm hoping that the weather's good! There are other threads about camping too - there around this forum somewhere. See you there!

We bringing our Rv to camp with and will see everyone there, towing Gunner. I spent 20 years in the Marine Corps and I don't tent camp anymore.

Please stop by and say hi, we are arriving on Wednesday evening. We will be in a red and white diesel Discovery from Missouri.

My wife and I will have to see if we can set up a portch area at our RV. We have a big awning and can set up a table and chairs, BBQ, popcorn, etc. The RV is a 36' rolling home for us, we fell in love with RVing about five years ago and love to take it out "camping". We are both retire military so our term for camping is bringing the house along. You all are welcomed to stop by, we should hopefully have good conversation for anyone that wants it and cold sodas and such too.

Call Fontana Village and ask them about setting up your porch area, krenzkes. I'm going to merge the other camping thread you started with this one, to keep the discussion together.

I will be camping as well. Hopfully I will be able to just camp in my Vendor tent but I will know better tomorrow.

Has anyone thought of butting togther a MINI group camp site at the Fontana? I would be happy to join any group to help fill up space.

Mike.
I will bring an extra tent if your vendor tent is a little open for you. It is a Eureka 2 man. I use it on my motorcycle for club rides. I have room for it in the tear so it is not a problem. I am sure you are going to be quite full bringing all your stuff. I will be staying in the drive at the 5280 cabin.

If Fontana Village does not have any objections to having tents around a RV me don't have any problem with having a few people set up about our awning. The RV may provide some protection from wind and rain if we get any.

Thanks,

I'm still working out the details but it sounds like Dragonslayer (my counter partner) will be going out there with me. He just told me this morning that he reserved the last tent spot at the Fontana for the four days.

My easyups have walls so that will not be a problem if it is OK with the Lodge for me to hide out in it at night

If not I may take you up on the spare tent.

It's too far to walk (several miles, uphill). The shower/restroom building is adequate but rustic.

Dragonslayer, I'll bring out tent too if you need one and you can camp over by our RV if you can't find another spot. If anyone else still needs a tent it will be available.

I think you were refering to me. But both of us will be caming together. I think I will be picking up a tent from Walmart when I get there to save anyone the trouble of finding us in the sea of MINIs.

Thanks for the offer.

That's quite allright. Nammers get us confused all the time.

It doesn't help that the dragonFLYER and the DragonSLAYER hang out together and will be at the Dragon together.

Hope you get your
MINI back real soon.

A question for any of you that have camped at the dragon before. Can you wash your car anywhere in the campground...I have a site with water and elec hookups.

Yes, as long as you have a hose or are willing to rinse using a bucket.
