what the hey, I will make a spectacle of myself. If I win I have plenty of room for the bone in the trailer.

Heh, if I win, I will probably stop in Knoxville on the way home and ship it.

Well I am competitor #4 and I was scared I would not get in because I was sure 20 folks may have already signed up. Come on people sign up.

I'll jump in to represent the NEO group. Dunno what I'd do with a crawler though. The gravel drive isn't condusive. Does one come with off-road wheels?

Well, I think it sounds interesting but I'm having trouble imagining getting up the incline with just one plunger. How about two plungers?

Nope, 1 plunger. Gotta be creative! Its not much of a hill, just a slight incline.

I *think* I have video from the creeper races last year. I actually brought my laptop to work with me and will see if I A) have the videos Jimmy took last year and B) see if I can upload them using my works wireless HEAVILY blocked network. If not - I'll upload them tonight and link everyone.
The quality isn't terribly good - it's just video taken on a digital camera, but it's coo'.

Edit:
WooT! I have the video and was able to upload one during my 30 minute lunch break. (gives you an idea what kind of connection I was dealing with)

So you wana know what a creep race is? Here's video from last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8Wn-Ng6UHM

A bunch of us were at breakfast yesterday morning, and we all had a laugh re-living last years race and trying to explain to someone who did not attend last year what is actually was. The video will help!

I believe I do have video of you two. I'll go through my laptop and look. Just wanted to make sure that I didn't upload the footage of my race.

Very entertaining video. But I am not sure how this is related to this years plunger driven creeper contest.

Only have 7 people signed up. Need at least 15 to make the time worth-while. C'mon, people!

Jeremy,

Don't forget that you can probably allow for bystanders willing to join in on the spot... not everyone coming reads NAM a lot!

I'm still not sure if I'm coming up on Thursday or Friday, so can't sign up as yet. I'll PM when I know and if I can participate!

Bystanders are good - but it would be nice to have a few more advance-notices.

Changing it up!

Okay people...

Since there has been an overwhelmingly poor response to this event this year, I'm going to change it up some to make it more interesting:

The event will be very similar to last year. Each team must now have TWO members (so all of you who have signed up already, find a mate!), and we will do the one person pushing, the other riding... then alternating thing, just like last year. This will still be slaloming around the cones.

Main difference: Fastest team wins 2 creepers - one per person (sorry, one will be the one used in the race, we're sold out of Bone-sters right now and I could only get 2 of them for the event). Plungers will still be used, but now the passenger will use them (instead of bare hands and losing fingernails) to help steer while their partner pushes. Losing team wins the plungers.

So, please, e-mail me at minineo@neo.rr.com if you would like to compete. Those of you who have signed up already must find a partner!

I'll have to dig up a partner between now and then. I won't have a navigator this trip.

Mark,

I'll pair up with you, my wife will have absolutely no interest whatsoever.

Okie Dokie! At least your wife's "absolutely no interest whatsoever" didn't start in your driveway like mine's did. I need a girlfriend so I can at least have a navigator and photographer. It's hard to read a map, poke the camera up out of the sunroof, steer and shift at the same time.
