I'm going, staying in my now traditional Fontana Village cabin right next to koolmini. . . .

You bring the beer, I'll bring the macaroni salad!

We'll be trying to stay as far away from the riff raff as posible.

Then stay away from the main lodge. That's where I am. But for others who love Blatz beer and a contest, well a family tradition, of trying to match bodily noises with the brand, the riff raff zone is the place to be. Umm...but no small minors please.

Oh, no, not dead. Just started early and climaxed early... Multiple climaxes are possible with such a potent topic and as we get closer to the event the growing excitement is sure to be obvious.

[Mmmm... scroll up to re-check thread topic... Dragon Plans for the OT Crowd... yep, that's what I thought I was talkin' about. ]

This stimulates my attention. Given how early this thread was started and the levels of arrousal so many had to the topic from the beginning, it is likely just hard to keep it up for so long without a rest. Thanks to Hahnsie for reviving this provovative and somewhat titillating thread. I agree with CooperBeagle, OT at The Dragon has not climaxed yet.

I am beginning a small collection of rhythm instruments to pack into Wanda for the roadtrip (get your minds out of the gutter).. and a few stringed instruments, as well... The jam will be a blast and I hope that others will bring some instruments like tambourines, castanets, bongos and saws!

I think we'll have an awesome impromptu jug band (again, out of the gutter)!

Ok, for Christmas, DH and I bought ourselves a righteous new BBQ Cooker/Grill/Smoker (I'm not sure what the exact difference is, so I'm calling it all potential names) We got it so we could pull it behind DH's Nissan Titan.
Right now I have reservations at Fontana Lodge. Would it be a useful, or even good idea to bring this with us? My husband will be going up a few days before me to do some fishing/hiking with a friend. Then I will be coming up in the MINI for the weekend. Tentatively, speaking, right now.
So here's what it looks like, it's about 5 feet wide.

That looks like fun to me

If you want to, you are welcome to park it at our cabin (MINI5280 Party Cabin) wherever we are located (somewhere down low I presume, 3 BR).

Then, I will be happy to spring for the dogs and buns and condiments and folks can spend a nice loud Friday or Saturday evening in the front yard....******* it.

We will have the nice folks from MotoringFile (Gabe et al) with us so perhaps a party will break out.

In any case, that looks fun. Let me know if you need support.

Jonathan

Damn... I was going to go "under the radar" for the weekend

Okay anyone who knows me probably knows I'm totally joking. Since this is my first Dragon I plan on hanging with as much as riff-raff as I can find. Of course non riff-raff are also welcome!

And also a huge thanks to Jonathan for extending the 5280 cabin to us.

BTW this may be my first OT post (in over 3 years no less!)

DH and I were looking at RVs, then decided that a teardrop would be way more fun and much less stressful to own.
So where are you getting yours? We've been debating between buying a finished one or letting DH get the kit and do it himself. I'm sure you've seen all the links with the really cool kitchen areas on the back, etc.

Custom build

Mine is from Lassen View in Redding, CA. I did some research on this a bit as the international teardrop gathering was here in my hometown in Nebraska this past year. Mike builds these during the rainy season when he is unable to do his regular job as a contractor. Mine is not the classic teardrop in that it does not have the back door for the kitchen. It actually slides out from the side like a drawer behind the side doors of which mine will have both left and right side doors. Here is a link to Mikes trailer site http://lassenviewcustoms.teardrops.net/

Thanks for the link, I'm forwarding it to my husband.
I can't wait to see yours, will yours have A/C or heat?

cool looking trailer....just be careful pulling it on the Dragon. Most of the curves are switchbacks with no guardrails, and every single one of them is a blind curve. My mind cringes at the possible scenarios.....

I talked to Mike today about my trailer some more. Sounds like the trailer is almost complete. I will be placing a ceramic heater inside when needed. However, body heat is usually plenty to keep the trailer comfortable, I may look into putting a small A/C unit inside if I find it necessary in the future.
List of interior items curently include: 12v deep cycle battery 4 speaker car audio unit. 110v inverter for the laptop, small tv, PS2 whatever. Two access doors drivers and passenger sides. Slide out shelf passenger side for cook stove what have you. More info later.

Thanks for the warning. I figure to travel with the Denver group and have a spotter out front in contact by radio. I hope that works.

How exciting that you are getting the trailer! You actually can arrive at Fontana Village without driving in through the Dragon. The roads are a bit curvy, but not like the Dragon. Be sure to consult a map to figure out all of your options. The first time I went, back in 2003, we came in through Robbinsville, and not on the Dragon, so it is possible to avoid the hairpins with your new trailer.
