Oh man - not that we were able to go this year - but this stinks!! There ARE lots of other fun roads but...wowza....I feel bad..... Yucca - get on the horn with the DOT and see what strings you can pull...

holey moley...what a freakin' bummer.

Now before folks start to cancel...there are other truly fabulous roads to drive on, and the whole area's simply beautiful. Plus the added attraction of so many NAM friends to hang with.
Please don't be discouraged and please, please do not cancel!!

Bad news comes in bunches I guess. Today is our 32nd wedding anniversary. To everyone out there....don't do anything drastic till you read the whole message on the tdot link given by YuccaPatrol. As has been said there are scads of terrific roads in the area. It will be a blast!!!

Shucks, If it was really true I was going to invite y'all over to Hawaii for
The first Annual VOLCANO run.

Volcanoes National Park has some pretty twisted roads that are nicely paved when they are not being covered by molten lava.

Hey, I just waiting for the Super Ferry to arrive in Hawaii in 2006 so we can do our own version of the Dragon and head up to Haleakala (MINI run to the sun) on Maui or do the road to Hana and back.

I'm also new to the Dragon Run, and new to Minis in general...

Because of this thread, what are the plans for the event cruising and dragon runs? Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I don't see one particular webpage dedicated to the Dragon event that details the latest news, and where the "main" meet is. There's just a bunch of smaller events going on in the region. But where do I go first? I'm totally overwhelmed. Help!

I still want to come, as I'm not that far away. But only if there's an organized PLAN. And I'm having a hard time finding that Plan.

Hune, I bet those are some lava-ly roads to drive on, and the scenery is undoubtedly magma-nificent! Though by looking at this picture, I can see there would be some int-eruptions here and there...

Trust Me, I've been there and am trying to navigate the pages to find out specific meet points, times, etc. That's the part I'm frustrated with. I see the village lodge as "headquarters", but is there not a coordinated time schedule listed somewhere? Where to be? When to be? I just don't have the time to view every single page looking for the basics.

From www.northamericanmotoring.com/motd-home click on Event Planner in the menu in the upper left corner of the page.

This is YOUR personalized event planner for the weekend. It lists what time everything is and from there you can register for your events as needed. Once you've registered for an event there will be a check mark next it in the the event planner so that you can quickly and easily see what you've registered for.

Make sure you purchase an event registration if you plan on taking part in any of the driving events. This registration is mandatory to participate in the driving events and is seperate from the registration that you will do for the individual driving events.

Thread Closure

*Apparently some folks haven't gotten that this whole thread is an April Fool's prank, so I'm here, as a co-organizer of one of the major events at the Dragon, to REASSURE everyone:

YES! This is an April Fool's Day JOKE! The Dragon is NOT being closed for repairs! Everything will be wide open and READY for us to enjoy!

Sorry if anyone didn't get the joke! Do NOT cancel your reservations...LOL! Come to the Dragon and have FUN with us all! I am locking this thread.*
