I get an excessive amount of brake dust on my rear wheels. I scrub them every couple weeks, but the soot keeps coming back. Does anyone else have this problem?
I'm wondering if my e-parking brake is dragging and needs to be adjusted.
From what I've read online, excessive brake dust is more common on the front wheels of cars, because on most cars the front brakes are engineered to do most of the work. However, a few articles say some modern German cars shift the burden to the rear wheels. VW was specifically mentioned, but I'm wondering if that's true for BMW/MINI as well.

It's not uncommon. I forget if my 2019 rears were dustier than my 2020 are, but my 2020 rear wheels definitely collect more dust than the fronts. On my 2019, I switched to slotted rotors with Ceramic pads...dust went to "next-to-nothing'. My 2020 has OEM pads which, while not as dusty as the 2019 OEM pads, are certainly more dusty than the Ceramics I put on the 2019.

The pads tend to wear more when you use the e-brake all the time. So on the electric it locked it when in park i believe automatically on a hill. Rovers with electronic brake burn up the rears all the time.
Ceramic pads front and rear are the way to go. The JCW brakes also burn them up the fastest.
