2018 Countryman Traction Control

I have a 2018 mini cooper countryman S ALL4. The car is a fantastic car and I have yet to have issues with it until now.

As I was driving about 30mph on dry pavement, my mini started beeping and the traction control light kept flashing. It came to a complete stop without my foot on the brake. As I tried to pull off the road, it would hardly move. It was almost as I had blown a tire, but all my pressures were fine. I turned the car off and back on and hadn’t had any issues for 24hrs until it did it a second time.

I had the tires, pressures, sensors, brakes and everything related to that checked out and it’s all fine.

Is this an issue anyone else has had with their mini? Is there something specific causing it? Or is it a common problem?

Thank you so much in advance.

2020 Mini Cooper Countryman S ALL4. Software update less than 1000 miles ago.

Yes. Tonight I came to a stop sign to make a right turn and DSC warning came on with steering wheel difficult to turn as if power steering was off. I was able to drive a small distance without traction problem but steering wheel still difficult to make turn. No change with manipulation of DSC toggle until I turned off engine and restarted and went on my way until making a slow right turn into my driveway when same happened. I will investigate further tomorrow but may need to take it in for correction. This is a low mileage car and no problems until software update; may just be coincidence...

power stirring

@reglob9 does your mini have the phone mount and usb port above the stirring wheel? Mine had a similar problem when my phone was plugged in.
I called the dealership and it turned out to be a wiring problem that they can fix, but my phone being plugged into that top usb port caused the problem.

it draws power from the area making the power stirring feel like it’s out.

Yes, I do have the phone mount and I used it tonight, but not a lot of other times. I will check it out tomorrow. Thank you much!

Mini repaired under warranty (the dealers invoice to the warranty company for reimbursement was about $217.)
As Corajune stated, problem was "incorrect" wiring of USB by the "Mini Click & Drive" phone holder above instrument cluster needing kit to rewire.
The service manager seemed to grasp the problem when I first called and he asked if I had the Click & Drive so probably not the first time he has seen this problem.
The final invoice makes reference to the technical service bulletin M610124 although I have been unable to find it online

Wow... I think I'm having the exact same problem. That's crazy... and my wife was like "Maybe it's my phone that we plugged in?" I was like... "nah, impossible!"
