Front coil spring broken

Hi motorers,

Today as I was leaving work, my Countryman made a weird noise… turns out the front driver side coil spring was broken in half. I managed to drive it to the dealer (5 minutes drive)

How is it possible for it to break while seating in the parking lot?

It just came back from the dealer for a week because of 2 leaking hoses that were replaced for roughly $1600 total repair cost… I am starting to hate it now!

To state the obvious, maybe the spring broke before you parked it. I have a 2018 with almost 230,000 km on it and it's been bulletproof (knock on wood). The hoses that you replaced, were they for the cooling system? My experience with the BMW F-Series MINIs is that they have very few reliability issues, particularly as relates to the engine and powertrain. For what it's worth, I've had springs break on cars before, and it's just one of the joys of ownership. Sorry to hear about your issues, but they say that bad things happen in threes, so maybe you're all done for now! :-)
