Definitely along the lines of what i was thinking. Didn’t realize I’d have to up to 19s though. Probably a bit too involved for me to go up to JCWs
@Jefferson Riff oh. Did you originally have 17s or is there something special about the jcw 18s?
Our 2018 Countryman came with 18's I stayed with JCW 18 inch because we had just bought new 18 inch tires.
oh you said you had to get new wheels. Wonder what's different about the JCW 18s. And if it's something I can find in other wheels?
The calipers fit the diameter, but stick out too far and rub the back of the spokes on the face of the wheel. RealOEM shows which wheel fit the kit;

I can tell you this kit does fit. You don't need the included master cylinder of brake booster as the F60 already has them installed. Everything else is a bolt on replacement. You may not need it, but I elected to have it reprogrammed so it knew it had the bigger brakes so the DCS & ABS would work properly.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. I guess on one thread I read, it said you needed to upgrade to 19s. Interesting you don't.
But I also have aftermarket 18s (non-MINI), so would be curious to figure if bigger brakes would fit....like is there a number somewhere...
Anyways...appreciate the info/direction.

If you want better braking power and feel (and aesthetics) I would just go to quality slotted and drilled rotors with upgraded pads and DOT 4 fluid and call it a day. You can also paint the calipers something nice! :-) I went down the rabbit hole of big brakes on my Audi TTS but *it* sees a lot of track use and one of the biggest issues wasn't the diameter of the wheels, but rather the design of the inner dish of the wheels and whether they would clear the calipers laterally. You won't know unless you test fit the wheels, and you can't test fit the wheels until you've already bought the calipers, etc., and installed them.Originally Posted by miniRogue1

Awesome info @eric.stewart . Thank you.
And yes, that's what I was afraid of...that I wouldn't know if they would fit until it was too late.
I've actually been obsessed with the PowerStop z23 sport brakes since I started this thread. Might need to find someone to install them, but it would still be a ton cheaper than getting MINI to replace stock.
Thank you!

That Z23 kit is one of the easiest things to implement on the Mini... Maybe you don't have the tools or time?
@2014 MC My thought is that one always can make time.
But really...I don't have a garage, so I'd have to do it outside, which is probably fine. But moreso, never really done anything like that before, so not sure I trust myself...

LOL at "obsessed"! It's that time of year, isn't it? Spring is in the air and we want shiny things. If you need help rationalizing the purchase to a significant other, I can help.Originally Posted by miniRogue1

I did mine in the driveway, you can do it, its a great intro to doing some work on the vehicle...Originally Posted by miniRogue1

ha I'm an over-analyzing, planning, headcase. So, I heard the slightest noise on my brakes and went in to see how they were. Apparently, I've got a good 5-6k miles or so left on them, so I'm planning ahead. So...knowing me I'll do early and I could use a summertime activity - you know, in between soccer games and summer camps.
