Question 2021 Countryman CID

I recently purchased a new 2021 Countryman S-model. With only 3000 miles on it, the Center Instrument Display (CID) became totally blank. Took the car back to the dealer for repairs. They told me they would have to replace the whole CID and would immediately order one from Germany. Twelve days later it came in. With the programming complete, I picked up my car. Before I even drove it away from the dealership I found a problem. The GPS Nav system was inop. The service manager took it back to the technician's work station. Several hours later I was told it was operational. Drove home using a functional Nav system. Next day I installed the Sirius/XM app. Installation and operation were successful. Then I found the 6 programmable station buttons, as well as the MODE and BAND buttons, were nonfunctional. Totally useless. Very frustrating since it's a 5 hour round-trip to the dealership. I am now awaiting another appointment. Has anyone had any similar problems with their Center Instrument Displays?

Oof...it sounds like something is seriously wrong with the vehicle programming, or a bad hardware that's causing fails. Either way, they need to fix it and keep it for a bit to ensure it stays fixed. Recommend you ask for a loaner and let them keep it for a while to sort it all out.

This is glanderson again . . . my 2-27-21 post explained the problem I was having with my 2021 Countryman and the Center Instrument Display (CID). Yesterday (3-2-21) I returned my car to Bob Smith BMW/Mini (located in Calabasas Calif. where I bought the car) and they were able to fix the problem of several inoperative functions on the newly replaced CID, e.g.: inactive push buttons to select favorite stations as well as use of the MODE and BAND buttons. The problem was a result of the new CID ordered from Germany having "mis-aligned" push buttons. This was a result of sloppy assembly by the company building the CID, and not being caught by Quality Control inspectors. All is well at this point. My hat is tipped to Bob Smith Mini service technicians for finding and repairing my CID.
