My sensor behind the bumper is replaced finally. All problems are gone. That seems to be the only proper solution. I had to go to another mini dealer which where more helpful. Software updates didn't work before. And when they forst coded the sensor out, problems where gone also. That way they knew it must be the sensor.

Our tailgate opened on us over the weekend as we were turning onto an on ramp to the freeway. We lost a 100 dollat life jacket we had in the trunk. Had to pull over to close it blocking traffic. How embarrassing. Idiot thing.

What year is your countryman and will you get the sensors looked at as well?

It's a 2017.
It's been in the shop 3 times for this now for this and I'm sure they have changed the sensor. I think it's the fob being overly sensitive. The slightest pressure on it and the trunk pops. (but then again the trunk has opened when the fob is just sitting on a table).
