Can't figure out "office"

Hi!
Picked up my 2017 Countryman (S, All4, manual), and for the life of me, can't figure out how to get my text messages to show on the screen!
Now, I'm not for "texting while driving", but I am a nurse practitioner and I get pages from the hospital to my phone as texts, and while my phone is connected to bluetooth in the car, I don't hear the tone when a new text comes in.
So, I'd like to set up the text message option (in "office"), and have tried over and over but still no messages are showing!
I have paired and unpaired numerous times, but I'm still not able to get messages!

Can anyone help?

thank you!

Attached is a thread from F56 on this. Not sure it will help.

I also have a 2017 F60 S All4 manual. No issues with texts or emails appearing on the screen. I had found in our R60 that you must use, or at least enable, the stock messaging apps in order for this to work. Before enabling the stock Samsung email app, I was unable to display email on the screen. Once I setup the stock Samsung app, even though I continued to use another third party mail app, the emails displayed. Same may be true for text messages. Also make sure that your Bluetooth pairing is not just audio.

Omfg... so I haven't gotten back into my car and will wait until my commute to either upsettingly realize or happily cheer that I finally followed these simple directions and found something so obvious wrong with the circuit of figuring out why I cannot read messages in my car.

Can also be found here. Will be back later to confirm whether having that single setting on under the "i"--show notifications--means I can read messages, even with do not disturb while driving on.
