Will my temp tags give me away? First time for us and still learning some of the nuances of driving a MINI. But I think joining the family will be the greatest!

 

Dunchooo worry about a thing, Vinny! We'll put the training wheels on going up Mt Evans....and take 'em off as you come back down. By the time we're back at the resort, you'll be a MINI veteran!!

 

We can fix that license plate problem. Just check in, you will see.

This is my first national event.. I'm both scared and excited...
I've met Texas owners, but never anyone across country, this'll be fun... in a... nervous sorta way

 

This is my first MITM and will be the longest drive to a National Event yet. If it wasn't AMVIV (Vegas), then I was flying to the event. I'll be leaving very early this Sunday!

 

up here in Colorado. Well, perhaps the cool evening air so be sure to bring a few layers and some jeans. Heck, boots and a hat wouldn't bad either.

In any case, there are hundreds of folks here, many of them milling about all the time. Find some nice people you are comfortable with and do the rides and drives with them. Maybe even join one of the TX caravans coming up, as there are nearly 20 cars planned.

When you get here, introduce yourself to folks, especially the vendors. They are vendors for a reason, and most always good people people.

Find our volunteers. MINI5280 has 25 unpaid vols working here on your behalf and our job is to make you comfortable. Check in at the parking structure and find some new friends. There is nobody threatening here that we know of and almost to a man, the MINI community will embrace you.

oh I've packed plenty of clothes... I'll be gone all month... haha, not only is it my first national event, but its my first road trip alone... hence the scaryness... lol
I'm not coming up with any of the other Texans either, I get there on the 8th, they get there on the 9th
As for introducing myself... lol I'm a very shy person at first so I don't really walk up to people I don't know, they usually come to me... kinda odd but it works

Join us on Thursday for dinner, you will meet some amazing people. Are you arriving in Copper on the 8th, or in Denver on the 8th? You can drive up with us Thursday morning, or Tommy_Zito a little later in the day on Thursday.

 

i'll be at copper on the 8th... i did the whole budget rooming thing to save money for the rest of my trip

 

Just look for the BatSignal in front of my car and introduce yourself. May even have my Batsignal shirt on.

1st trip to MITM, but not my 1st national event.
I did drive right past Copper on my way back from the dragon though.

 

Sounds like there are quite a few rookies, I was afraid I would be the only one and be an outsider.

 

I was wondering if i would be the same. the only one that would be a rookie.. i am glad there is a bunch of us..

OH well we WILL all have ablast....my Minister is a grey cabrio, blackorange stripes......since we are giving 'scripts and all....Oh and always wear T-shirts :impatient

 

This will be our first organized Mini event of any kind

 

What with Drivers, Passengers, those who show locally who do not register, Vendors, and others, you will be close to 350 new persons, maybe 225 new MINIs and Minis...
