'bout damn time!

Let us know when you're coming to pick her up, maybe a few other classic owners can meet up with you and give you a good sendoff!

You gonna drive it back or tow it?

Uhaul rents car haulers really cheaply, maybe that would be smartest for the drive home?

I'm not positive on the time just yet, but we own a car hauling trailer with a beater tail and everything, so that's how the car will be getting home.

It's in my driveway now... Thanks again to Ryan for EVERYTHING. It's a great car, and he was great to deal with.

I can't wait to take her on her first drive around town tomorrow.

Congrats MM. Just got mine home yesterday as well and registered it today ( 100+ people at the Registry )

Got to wait for snow to mostly clear up before I drive around.

well... I spent 4 hours at the DMV trying to get it registered.... it was insane down there. I've never seen so many ill mannered children in one place.

On another note. I spent the rest of the day getting used to driving her (Without proof of insurance.. shhhh) Lol. I have it insured. I just don't have the proof in the glove box yet.

I love it, and I can't wait to do some more with it. This summer will be an engine re-build. I'm gonna pull it and rebuild the whole top end, and replace nearly every gasket under the bonnet. Then it's off to the brakes. I'm planning on doing a full disk conversion. We'll see.

I'll keep you guys posted. I know Ryan wants to see what I do with the little beast.

Driving it around today, I realized an ENTIRELY different crowd of people. In my truck I get all of the people that like it and they get caught by the color, but I get the wrong kind of attention from numb skulls in slow cars and crap that try to race me. And I definitely get the wrong attention from the police. But in the mini.. it's all smiles, and all people just curious about it. And a police officer actually WAVED to me and smiled. haha. I can't believe it.

I'm so incredibly happy with my purchase, and even happier with the gas mileage. I drove around for HOURS.. and it only took out a half a tank. So I decided to go fill her up with Premium (93) for a whopping $1.85/gallon. And the half tank only cost me $4. haha. I think I am in love.

I know the feeling. It's great to have so much fun and so little pain at the pump. I'd suggest that you test the accuracy of your fuel guage. My mini pick-up's gauge is crazy and reads half-full after consuming 5 gallons of gas(it holds 7). The "2nd half" goes rather quickly since there are really only 2 gallons left. Pick-ups, Estates & Vans have different tanks/fuel level senders than Saloons so you may not experience this. Nonetheless, it's always nice to know just how low your tank is when guage approaches the big E.

That's right. How many times has anyone ever seen a Mini or a MINI pulled over on the side by a LEO? Knock on wood, I've never seen it. ( though my wife did get pulled over by a local yokel because the annual registry sticker on my plate was expired....she got off but I didn't )

Thanks guys. Here's some pictures of me puttin the car on the trailer and everything. I included a picture of Ryan standing next to his car for the last tie just in case he wanted to save it.

I'll have some pictures of it next to my brother's '79 Ford Bronco here in the next day or so.

Pics as requested

oh.. I forgot to tell you guys. As I finished loading her up on the trailer, an older man that lived down the street from Ryan came driving down the street and stopped to ask me all about the car. I told him mainly what I knew, and he said it was a beautiful car, and he'd never seen anything like it in the states. He is from somewhere in Europe and remembers them running around every so often over there.

I told him I just bought it from Ryan who lived just a little ways from where we loaded it up, and the man said he wished he didn't wait till that day to take the long way home so that he could have seen it a few more times.
