I just want to thank Ryan once again for being so great to work with. Seriously though, if by some odd lapse of fate I absolutely cannot buy this car (I'm praying to God that this is not the case) I would recommend him to anyone else.

He has been great to work with, very informative and honest about EVERYTHING on the car, and has over all made this crazy ordeal bearable.

Also.. if anyone is looking to buy a vespa from this guy.. I'm sure he'd be just as awesome to work with.

Thanks Cameron! Yes yes, if anyone is EVER looking for a vintage Vespa motorscooter, come to me. In a two car garage I'm cramming my Mini30 and 6 scooters in there and clearing out room for more bikes.

Hey Ryan. I may actually have someone that wants a vespa from you. It's one of my good friends from Texas. He is a vespa enthusiast, and is looking to own one. Got a website that he can browse through some pictures of what you have?

He's not certain on anything right now, but he just paid off his car and is in the market for something else to just play around with.

I don't want to be thread jacking, but after all, this is your thread!

Talk to your buddy to see what kind of Vespa he is looking for (how far is his commute, how fast he needs to go, his price range, etc). Wish I would have known this before, as I just sold two last week! I'm always getting more in though and my turn around time to get an old beater on the road is pretty quick. Let me know, if not here, once you come and get the car and we can talk. Looking forward to meeting you, and I'll let you know how the appraisal goes tomorrow morning.

Look forward to hearing from you tomorrow.

Mtymous,
I'm so glad you didn't buy that other classic that I went and looked at for you a few months ago, it was such a POS - I can say that now because he sold it out of the country - anyway, good luck with the new car, I'm sure you'll have fun with it, but remember, it's still gonna need work from time to time, just the nature of the beast! So I hope you have some extra money over and above the monthy payments, insurance costs and gas.........

I do have the money to tinker, and I have a daily driver also, so if the little guy goes down for a week, it's ok. I'm actually looking forward to something that I can work on during my days off and tinker on. I have classes twice a week, and I work nights 6-11. I have the money and the time to play around with the car. Hence why right now is an ideal time to buy it.

By the way, thank you again for checking out that mini. It's really appreciated, and one of the main reasons I want to break into this mini community. You guys are great, and it doesn't matter where it is in the nation, there is always someone willing to help. You guys are really great.

haha. We are waiting on the appraisal tomorrow. The car should appraise for at least the asking value, and then I'll send it off so I can get my check to pay Ryan, and take it home. This is the course of events that I am painting in my head because if one more thing goes wrong with this situation... I'm gonna kill myself. And my bank.

Well, the appraiser came by and looked over my Mini30 this morning and all went well.

First off, if anyone in the Kansas City area is looking at appraising any classic vehicle, I would have to send you to Gary @ Classic Auto Appraisels (816.456.6102). He is the only CERTIFIED appraiser in Kansas City and for a price of $125 and an official certificate to go with you're car, I feel that it was a real steal.

He appraised the car at $10K, so you should have no problems with the finance company if that was the only hold up.

I'm on the phone with them right now. I faxed it to them, and i'm just waiting on them to process it and add it to my file. Then there should be absolutely no problem. I have bent over backwards to give USAA everything they need. If they try some crap now that I have a CERTIFIED appraisal.... I am going to have to get very very drastic with my measures.

Sorry guys. I forgot to update you. I'm waiting on the underwriters to contact me on Monday. I'll be calling them first thing Monday morning. I'm actually gonna get out of bed at 8:00 on the day I don't have to work or anything to do. haha.

I'll definitely post up as soon as I know. I'm just ready for the bank to stop jerking me around and give me the money so I can get the car home.

Talking about my car living to another home is sad for sure . Unfortunately, she has to go. I'm in the market, looking at newer MINIs in hopes that it will keep me sane without my classic. Looking forward to meeting you cameron, let me know what happens tomorrow morning. I'm assuming they overnight the check? Have you thought about when you would want to come up, if of course, you had a check in hand on Tuesday?

I haven't talked to Ryan about the specifics, or if they are originals from the car, but either way, I will most likely be keeping them as they change the ride and handling of the car. If I'm ever in a mood for some sporty go-kart riding I may just slap them on and take a spin.

IT'S MINE

That's right. I talked to the bank today, and they are sending me the check over night. I'm just waiting to see FedEx at my door tomorrow, and then it's off to see Ryan on Thursday with the trailer to pick her up.

I'm so ready to have this car in my driveway. It's a dream come true.

I WILL. Definitely. I'm gonna be taking an unholy amount of pictures. This isn't my first car, but it's the first car that is entirely mine.

well... Technically, it IS my first car. lol. This is my other car.

yeah. Talked to him last night, actually. He said he's focusing on his civic for now, and making it a comfortable Daily Driver for the rest of the winter. Then he'll be in the market in the spring some time. I'll DEFINITELY be reminding him of you though.
