Wow...if that was a clip of the Netherlands run, I think their submission will be disqualified since they exceeded the distance between cars.

That was impressive, I'll give them that. I don't see anywhere on the website link that Edge posted that it was an official Guinness World Record though.

I'm not saying that I know it to be "official", but it is noteworthy. It seems to me that someone needs to get the "final answer" direct from Guinness... and I don't mean only from the website.

As for the distance between cars, it's all relative... what really matters is where the official record keepers were and what THEY saw.

I can tell you first hand that at last year's GWR event, there were several impatient members of the general public who pulled out in front of us and broke our line. That's the problem with having a GWR line set on a public road that isn't "locked down" by the police... all it takes is one killjoy to break the line.

Mind you, at last year's GWR event, the record keepers didn't see that, because they weren't along the course. They were only at the beginning and the end (which was one and the same, since we drove a loop).

Actually Edge, I believe that this year's event will be fully on Rockahock Campground's property so there will be no breaks in the line.

I've searched every phrase that I can think of and I still can not come up with anything that states that the Dutch "record" is an official Guinness World Record. I am going to try calling Guinness to see if it was sanctioned by them. The event is still on for July 26, 2008!
