R60 Prodrive/WRC Style Wing (trying to gauge interest)
Hello all,
I am trying to gauge how much interest there would be in a Prodrive/WRC style wing for the Countryman R60. I have taken measurements from my countryman and also used some (just okay) CAD models I have found to verify fitment. I plan on making one for myself along with wider flares to accompany it. If any of you would be interested or think I should do a small run of them I would like to know.
I know that a lot of us can't justify $7500 on the actual Prodrive wing for sale through Lohen. My goal is to keep the price around $1200 for FRP and $1800 for Carbon. Keep in mind this is not a 1:1 replica, I have put my own twist on it and designed it so you do not have to modify the rear hatch like you do with the wing from Prodrive.
It looks awesome, and nice work modeling it. I don't think I would put it on my mini, if I get one, just purely due to the disruption of my rear view. It looks like it blocks out a pretty chuck of the rear glass. This is one reason I don't like cars like the C-HR or ZDX/Crosstour or Prius or Aztec or similar - their small or wonky rearviews (among much more glaring problems with these vehicles).
Aren't there some options for larger and more functional spoilers that would attach higher on the hatch? I understand your point and goal is to mimic / modify this particular brand of WRC style spoiler, the prodrive, and for that it looks awesome, but outside of racing, is it safe?
So what ever happend to this design? I’m looking for a similar slightly toned down version of this. Kind of like the GP versions on the 56.
Are 56 and r 60’s compatible?
This looks awesome, i imagine out of my budget range. But less bulky in the back. just a Little more than whats put there though.
