Got check engine light and 3225 code-dmtl short at pin B+. Replacing this pump was the only easy thing I've done on this car, 2012 Countryman S all4.

You can see it looking between left side rocker panel and skidplate about 8 inches in front of lr wheel. Jacked up at rear control arm and put stand at lr jacking point. Left wheel on car.

Put something to hold plastic skid plate up and remove 4 nuts. If you don't support the plate it will crack hanging off last bolt.

Use 2 channel locks , one to squeeze hose clamp and wiggle hose, the other to pry hose off. The rear hose also has rubber bushing to be reused.

Remove 3 small torx head screws on pump. If you remove the 2 nuts holding the canister, the assembly will be more accessible, but may not be required.

The code did not clear after 3 days so I cleared code with reader. The CEL went out once while I was waiting on parts, so it does eventually clear itself, I think. OK after 2 weeks.

DMTL Pump
Thanks for your post. I have the same 3225 code and and going to attempt the fix on my own following your instructions. Before I start though I wanted to see if you remember where you bought the pump from or if you have a part number? Thanks.

ECS is the best place for Mini parts. Not the cheapest, but they don't sell off brand parts that have problems. Repair was successful til I sold the mini 3 wks ago. Was about 35 $.
