positive camber on rear wheels?

Hi All, I just purchased a 2012 Mini Cooper S Countryman ALL4 this weekend. It has 56,000 miles on it and a clean Carfax report. Report records show that the clutch was replaced at 50,000 miles and the car was well maintained. I need to ask a question, while at brunch yesterday a friend was looking the car over and remarked that from the rear the wheels looked like they had a lot of negative camber on them (rear tires are closer together at the top than the bottom). Is this normal? I know that the records say that a 4 wheel alignment has been done at least twice in the past.

Normal - 2 degrees of negative camber is the OEM spec.

Cheers,

Charlie

Yes it is normal for MINIs to have a lot of rear neg camber. We always install adj rear control arms and realign the car with less and dial in the rear toe to improve tire life

I noticed the apparent high camber of the rear wheels when I bought my Countryman, too! BTW, a BMW tech friend of mine said that there are other alignment items such toe which should worry you a lot more than camber if you're concerned about wear!
