So sometime had past and I wanted something that I could haul around family when in town and take on a long trip with in. My R56 is fast and fun but wasnt cutting it for long journeys. My Audi S4 on E85 was definitely not going to be doing that either! So I started looking at Countryman's and saw a 2011 for sale on here from SRICHS. After talking to him for an hour about the car and him being a mechanic for Mini for over 12yrs, I was convinced I wanted the car. I flew to Chicago a couple weeks back and started my journey back! Its a 2011 ALL4 Cooper S 6 Speed..
When I showed up it was immaculate!
This was my first stop in Idaho for gas.. So far it had no issues and ran like a dream!
About 100 Miles later I started smelling oil and I pulled over and found this! The copper oil ring seal on the oil line blew out! Well with no Mini Dealers, around I cleaned it up, topped off the oil and headed out!
10 hours later that night I made it to Denver Colorado where I spent the night. I woke up to 29 degrees and a huge snow storm. Still blowing oil everywhere I gassed up, cleaned it up, topped off the oil and kept on driving with no issues!
2400 Miles later and 2 quarts of oil, I made it home to Las Vegas where the rest of the misfits were waiting !
First order of business was to clean up the oil on the motor! Plus the salt and sand from the snow storm off the body and from within the motor.
Next day I decided to give it a good vacuum. I took the back seats out, cleaned and steamed the carpet.
After that I decided to wipe the seats down with a light mix of Mcguires all purpose cleaner and then steam clean each seat. Finally I would spray Sonax leather cleaner on them and then apply some " Leather in a bottle"
Next Day I cleaned up the headliner with some Chemical Guys Fabric cleaner. I used a horse hair brush with a bucket of warm water then used a microfiber to clean it up.
Next I took the front seats out and attacked the front carpets twice with a steam cleaner, all purpose cleaner and carpet shampoo, This was the final product.
Same process as the rear seats. All Purpose, Steam clean, Sonax, then leather in a bottle.
