Countryman 3rd Brake Light - 1 LED out

I have an issue with my 3rd brake light. One is LED is out. It's annoying because it actually causes me to get the light warning on my dash every time I start the car. The dealer says this is not a serviceable part and the only option is to replace the entire unit. Is this accurate or is there a way to replace just the one bulb?

Thanks,
Chris

Probably could fix it if you can find the led and have good soldering skills. They are not bulbs if it is an LED light.

btw - pretty easy to DIY to replace entire unit, save a lot of money doing so. The cover just pulls off easily with a panel trim removal tool or plastic paint scraper to wedge underneath. At least on my 2011 CM is was easy.

it's cheap to replace the whole thing. They even have aftermarket ones.
