Could it drift?

Let me start with saying I've never drifted a car other than in the snow so I have zero idea what it would take to make anything drift on dry roads. BUT, I was wondering what it would take HP wise to get the CM to drift a la Ken Block? Is it possible with the type of rear diff we have? I'm just entertaining myself as I'm at work with these ideas. From what I've seen, we are limited to roughly 300hp with our stock internals and most 4wd drift cars I see are well over this. Anybody have an idea?

You can drift a front wheel drive car but it's not easy, it's more of making the rear slip and swing around than drifting. You don't even require high horse power to drift, you just need a rear wheel drive car.

I think with AWD it's a bit more possible than FWD. I agree FWD is more of a controlled skid than anything. I think the kind of AWD system would determine this also. Something like a quattro system would never get a drift going on pavement.

yes technically it would be possible to drift a CM, at lower wheel speeds with stability control and traction control off, its around 50:50 split up until 80 mph. if you had say space saver tires (100-120 width) with like 500+ tread wear and enough power, yeah, you could potentially drift around. kenblocks RS has over 500hp with really tight gearing. topped out in 6th is like 120 mph whereas our cars are geared to do much higher than that. I think a stage 2 tune would help

a tire like this could work.... makes me feel like I need to try haha
