TPMS Inactive?

Hey guys, so i been having a problem with my TPMS saying that its "inactive" so far ive put about 14k miles on the car. This usually comes up after i been driving for awhile or on a rough road, but does not come up when i start the mini.

So far ive checked the tire pressure which is currently at 32 psi (which i believe is what it should be at?) and ive tried resetting the tpms according to the manual.

Im thinking i that maybe one of the sensors could be broken? I was thinking maybe i should take it in to a dealership and have them check it. Are the TPMS covered under warranty?

Thanks for the help! :D

Check the tpms sensors, you might have a bad sensor or receiver. You under warranty so the dealer can look at it.

Hello all. I am having this same problem (Inactive) with my 2011 Countryman "S". It's my first Cooper so I'm having some trouble finding any further information about the indicator. Is it supposed to tell me which tire has an issue? Yesterday we found a bad TPMS sensor in one tire. Replaced it and the indicator cleared for one day. It's back now but again, does not tell me any more info. Is there some combination of buttons I can push to get more info? Thanks in advance.

I had this issue and there was a strange solution. I bought a set of snow wheels/tires with what I thought (Mini Dealer told me) were the correct sensors...They weren't, but the inactive would only come on after a while. I stored my summer wheels in the garage next to my car, which would pick up the sensors and feel everything was ok...Took three trips to the dealer to figure it out, and they replaced the sensors on the winter wheels.

the wheel sensors have batteries that are non replacable and have a stated life of 5 years .... your 2011 i now 5 years old so you may need a new set of wheel sensors ... send the bill (about $200 plus dismounting tires and remounting) to your congressmen
