I got my windshield replaced with OEM Pilkington glass today by Glass America (highly recommended, they only use OEM glass) and much to my surprise, it was made in Mexico. Is this only with replacement glass or does anyone have a new Countryman fitted with Pilkington Mexico out of the factory?

Does it come with a faint whiff of tacos or burritos?

Surprises me. Seems like a long ways to ship windows to build the MINIs.

Not terribly surprising when you start to consider factors like labor costs and tax abatements. For example, many BMW 3 series cars sold here in the U.S. are assembled in South Africa of all places, with the engines and transmissions coming from Europe.
