R60 Trying to replace my base-model stereo with an aftermarket head unit
Trying to replace my base-model stereo with an aftermarket head unit
I found this thread, and it seems like the only resource on the internet for replacing the r60's oem stereo.
Has anyone had any luck tearing apart the dash to get to the stereo? I've got a few questions, and I'll try to post a guide when I finally succeed.
Do you have to remove the cupholders/change tray?
How do you get the side pillars off?
How much of the dash do I need to pull off to get to the stereo?
Do I need to remove the speedometer to get to the stereo?
I'm using this page as reference.
I'm not gonna take this thing to best buy and have them spray and pray, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Its a LOT of work. In the Audio/Nav section of the second gen threads, there's a lot of write-ups. I'm sure it's very similar. I did this to my '08 clubman S. Complete over-haul, from custom door panels, custom a-pillars, Pioneer P99R deck, full interior gut and sound deadening, 15" sub in the boot...... etc, etc.
