leatherette seats compared to others

Does anyone know how the underpinnings of the leatherette seats compare to that of their pricier siblings? Do you get any more of a supportive seat if you opt for one of the cloth/leather or all-leather seats, rather than the leatherette? Is it correct that on the CM and the Paceman that the leatherette seat now comes with the adjustable lumbar? My 2011 definitely did not.

I really liked the ruggedness of the leatherette seats that I had. If there's no reason to go to leather to get extra support...

Thanks in advance!

All Mini seats, whether R56 or Countryman, and even including the new factory Recaros, have the same frames underneath. The only difference between them is the foam padding, the cover and whether or not they have adjustable lumbar support.

Sports seats do have higher 'wings' at the side, but those are purely foam, not anything stiffer - even the new Recaros don't appear to have anything solid in those 'wings'.

I've had basic sports and leather seats in non-Countrymen and there isn't any difference between them - I suspect those who find the leather seats wonderful are talking about pride of ownership, not comfort. After all, for that much extra, they have to be better, don't they?
