Also, even if you don't want to use Auto mode on headlights - just turn your headlight switch to Auto when you want them on, and off again when you want them off. That way if they are on when you pull into your garage it will be because you pulled in at night.
I agree with everything kgelner says. I also don't like my lights turning on when I start the car in the garage every morning, so I basically do "off" in the morning/when parked and "auto" when it gets dark.

The auto headlights/wiper option is part of my 2013 premium #2 package so forking out only an extra $100 for the adaptive lights was a no-brainer. I've driven on plently of dark, windy roads and, truthfully, never felt that I needed extra illumination while cornering, but having extra assurance never hurts! You just never know. Plus, it looks cool.

Mine are only turning to the right, and when I go past center, to turn left they stay in the center? I tried it back and forth in the garage, and they never go past center when I turn left, any help, ideas. Thx

Normal. You have to be moving for them to go left. Try it out when moving with your high beams on and you will see a big difference!

I didn't try that while moving, another forum said it was a Canadian code, they deactivate the left turn as to not interfere with oncoming traffic. Stupid "big brother"

A couple of owners have pursued installing adaptive xenons after receipt of the car - the process was expensive and tedious. As far as I can tell, the cars are built to order and needed communication links aren't present (have to be added) to support more complex options.

Retrofitting 99% of the options MINI offers is expensive and extremely difficult. The cost is rarely worth the result.
