R60 Countryman vs other cars
I have never really owned a big car. I find my countryman fits more stuff then my 2004 TSX, and having the read seats that can slide really help with adjusting the cargo area. My wife and I went away for a weekend with another couple and had no problem will all of the stuff in the car. We had a ton of stuff including a cooler and some pots. like others have said a bit of tetris style packing goes a long way. I never feel like I need a larger car.
One day I would like to get a cargo box. Right now though I don't see the need, but future kids might have another idea.

I think I'm about to bite the bullet and let my beloved R56 go but can't decided between a CMS and a Mazda CX5 Grand Touring. My heart is set on the countryman but my wallet and sense of reason says the cx5. I'm a realtor so there is always stuff to hawl around and at least 2 days a week I have to fit a "for sale" or "open House" sign in the back. The 36" signs fit with just the seats folded but anything larger and I'm pinned against the steering wheel. I LOVE the look and drive of the CMS but practically the Mazda is the better choice. And I can get a fully loaded dealer demo right now for about $5,000 less than a countryman. I hate being an adult sometimes. lol.
My wife tested the 2013 RAV4 Limited last night and like it a lot. She said it was like her BMW X3 (2006). Price difference between the RAV4 and the Countryman is close to $6,000 and both are decked out, that's a lot of money. (And BMW is $15K more than the Toyota, minimum, but yeah I know why).
I'm going to head out in a bit to check out the RAV4 but I think that's the way she is leaning. It's her car I'm not going to push her towards the Mini that much.
The Countryman is a blast to drive. If it were $30K I think we would have already gotten it (need the ALL4 here in Colorado).
