I test drove both and decided on the base because I found the turbo made the ride a bit too unmannerly for my taste. Be sure premium fuel is used and the performance of the base is just fine. Whenever I want a boost (big hill or highway onramp) I move the shifter momentarily to the left for sport mode. Engine seemed louder with turbo as well.
