I want to weld different exhaust tips to my Countryman, but I can't seem to find the inlet size.

Do you know what the inlet size is?

a tip w/ a 2.25" ID will work. It will need to be welded on.

 

Why would it need to be welded on? The current tips are just clamp on style. You can use any clamp on style tip you wish just be sure to use a thread locker to keep them from backing out and falling off.

 

The Countryman tips are welded on. Must be cut off and new welded on, or new pipe added. Thread somewhere on doing this. My JCW tips were welded on to what was left of the stock pipe.
Eventually bought the full JCW system when it became available. Have the tips for sale $60 shipped in USA. New price is like $90 each. Tips have year of use on them. E-mail rnharsh@aol.com

Yes, the CM tips are all 1pc, part of the original tubing, factory welded on.
If you want to replace them w/ something else, you'd need to cut these off.
Being that the bend to the muffler is rather short, you wont want to cut too much back & you will also want to match the length of the new tip (recommended aprox 8") in order to cleanly mount the new tip.
- too short, not enough length for new tip to clear valance
- too long and they will extend too far beyond valance as you cant put them back far enough as the 90* pipe-turn into muffler is rather close to valance.

It's not all that difficult, just saying you'd want like a ~8" long tip.
