R60 What did you do to your Countryman TODAY?
1st dealer maintenance for me as well today.....1 year service at 8253 miles. Oil change, top off fluids, checked the brakes & tires, replaced the wipers blades (3), replaced coolant temp sensor as per recall.
When I was done I asked the service adviser if they had changed the service interval to the new spec and he said they had. I didn't look right away but later I noticed that it showed 6000 miles remaining, exactly what it was before the service. So I thought that maybe there was something else due before the next oil change but I looked at the paperwork after I got home and it says "Performed Annual Warranty Oil Change Only" and "maintenance light not reset per MINIUSA Recommendations."
I suppose I'll be back in 6000 miles and I suppose they'll do another oil change as well as whatever else is on the list.

New Tires
Went to America's Tire for a rotation & spin balance and thanks to a pot hole on 280 in SF a few weeks ago had a nice egg sized lump on the left front sidewall.
They contacted Bridgestone and I would be given a $97 credit towards a Bridgestone tire. Since I was planning on replacing the tires with non-run flats in the next few months went ahead and got the tires I wanted: Michelin Pilot Sport A/S +. Had these on the wife's Mercedes and really liked them. Great job by the guys at America's Tire, they always do a good job!
Also a wash, wax and ordered a Conti Comfort Kit to carry in the car.
Tomorrow: 13000 scheduled maintenance @ Mini of Marin.

Hey Ozarkgolfer,
Yes those are the 18" from the Sport package. The tires were $200/ea but with all the stuff (tpms rebuild, disposal fees, taxes, etc) and the replacement cert's (if anything happens to the tire they will replace it for free) it was a little over $1k.

Installed the Craven Speed stubby antenna. Can I say "installed"??? All I did was unscrew the old RC car one and screwed the stubby in. So "installed" is an overstatement.
I have not noticed any degradation in the sound quality.

Right through the Bluetooth? Looking at your pic you obviously don't have Mini Connected so how did you get the directions via BT? I thought we could only get phone calls via BT w/o Mini Connect... how did you do it? Is it app specific? Can it be be done with Pandora (on a iPhone 5)?

Bluetooth would be used for communications between your phone and your MINI.
I have the iPhone for S. However I have not updated to the most recent operating software. I did download the new Google maps app. This new version is in beta but has turn by turn instructions. The directional voice comes over the Bluetooth similar to answering a telephone call. However, as a call will cut out your stereo this seems to talk in the background if you are playing the radio. Obviously all the directional data for the Google maps comes from the cellular network and the phone's GPS.
Between tryin with the tools I had and having to go buy a ratcheting wrench about 2 1/2 hrs. If I had the tools about an hour. The right tools make the job easier. I called alta and asked if they had any tips or tricks and they said its just time and patience with the R60's. it's just a tight space to get the screw out.
