Bank Acquisition Fee on purchase?

HI: I just ordered a Countryman from a recent Touchdown event. I was offered the standard $750 off plus $500. So it's $1250 off. However as I looked on the order worksheet, I noticed there is a line item for a bank acquisition fee for $725. I haven't questioned it yet but I understand such fee is typically for leasing a car. My order is for a purchase with some financing. Does anyone know if such a fee is valid for a financed purchase or am I being deceptively squeezed? Thanks.

Some unscrupulous dealers will throw that fee in there and hope you walk right past it. You have not. Have them take it off or just go get your own financing. Dealers usually make a percentage point on the loan anyway - this fee they are trying to charge you is pure profit.

+1. Refuse to pay it or as suggested tell them you will get your own financing.

I, too, would be challenging that line item.

I will never lease another vehicle through a bank again in this life time...after our lease was up, they charged us nearly a thousand for lease cancellation and wear/tear...huh? It's a used car now so of course there would be wear and tear dumb A$$es...cancellation fee when the lease is up on their term? WTF...

More confirmation the bankers have taken over the world...

Bogus. Call them now to confirm that will be removed on the final paperwork. You don't want to be arguing that at pick-up. Of course, if it's still there, feel free to make a big stink and walk if need be. But easier to fix it now and rest assured.
