Just an update... We finally took delivery this past Friday. Told the MA about the repair the day before and did not have any problems at trade-in time. I'll post a pic.
We will disclose it to the dealer. Also based on the other suggestion of a mass communication, I will post a photo of the damage to Facebook and hopefully the guilty party will fess up ( they all look at mt Facebook posts )
BTW, Info for some: you might not have a choice in disclosing an accident depending on your insurance carrier. I was rear ended 4 or 5 years ago and literally all that needed to be done was a bumper cover replacement. No other damage (less then 5 mph crash). But insurance claims go into a national system now and the dealers pay to be a part of it. All that shows up is that my car was in an accident under $2500.00. Doesn't matter that there was zero structural damage done and the cosmetic damage was just a bad scratch in a plastic part that cost $6something to replace. Then my wife had some hail damage to her Volvo, it now shows up as an accident......
