I put a full size 17" (same exact rim that is on the car) in the trunk and used the tie downs to strap it in verticly. Its out of the way, not visible to the outside world and I have a full spare. OF course I also yanked the run flat flint-stone tires off and put on normal tires.
Soooooo much better ride and now every tire shop can fix them without any problems.

( the trunk is full of work tools)
Doesn't the Roadside assistance cover the cost of the tow to the nearest dealer?

I have a 2007 Mini Cooper S and i found a used spare tire for a Honda Civic at a salvage yard for $50.00. You can mount it under the car easily, just click on the link for step by step instructions on how I did it myself:

The Countryman has a different bolt pattern than the other platforms, plus even the small spare we have found that fits the wheel will not fit under the rear floor or even under the car for that matter. You have to either remove the floor and bungee it upright to the rear seats or sit it on top of the rear floor horizontally and have one of the rear seats forward a notch or two.
