R60 Keyless driving drama
Agreed that this is a potential safety hazard.
Not only would I encourage users with the full keyless systems to contact BMW as described earlier in this thread, but also send messages to NHTSA (in the USA) to report this safety concern. Not sure what the similar org is in Canada. This should force BMW Group to pay attention and potentially issue a fix.

Sealy - Who's more than willing to doubt MINI's abilities while pointing out that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Hubby is a blonde who has a blonde wife who has a MINI! Hubby has a Ford Edge and doesn't really love the MINI.
You have Mini Connected, that doesn't appear on the regular models, but something should happen!
Actually, I really like Ford's keyless entry keypad on the door.
I wish mini had an option like this. It allows you to enter a keycode and then control various functions, even if you have no key. It is the best option because if your child or dog accidentally locks the door with the key still in the car, or you lose your key, you can still gain access and control.
Many times, I will purposely lock my keys somewhere in my truck so that a friend or wife can come by later and enter the code, gain access, take the keys and drive the truck away. This is convenient sometimes like dropping off at an airport, etc without having to give someone an extra set of keys, or travel with keys I don't need.

strangley enough it wont let you lock the keys in the car ...... it knows!!!
also mine shows up both on tack and screen, you may have to go to options and turn up the dong sound as my dealer when i took dilivery turned it off as he sais it annoys customers, so i just simply went back and turn it all the way up, now when exiting the vahicle it sounds off and showes up on the screen....
I think it will lock with the keys in the car if someone locks it from the inside. or if it is locked while closing the hatch.
There is a warning in the manual about not leaving kids or animals in the car alone with the keys in the car as they might accidentally lock the vehicle.

Locking with keys in the car
I believe that is you lock the car using the FOB (from the outside as normal), but leave someone inside, the ONLY way for them to open a door and get out (without a FOB) is to use the toggle lock/unlock switch on the dashboard. They cannot get out with the standard double pull on the handles. The manual does warn about not locking people in the car with the FOB.
My SO bought a keypad for my Ranger - I thought it was somewhat superfluous. It did not take long for it to become one of my favorite options. No more running inside for keys when I want to move the iPod, Metro pass, or whatever to another car or need to grab something I forgot.
