R60 Checking Oil
Checking Oil
Does anyone else go through a lot of oil?
I am having a hard time with the dipstick too.
The way the tube is curved for the dipstick, as long as there is any oil at all in the car, it ends up on the stick and I am having a really hard time getting an accurate reading.
Is there a trick to putting the stick in/ pulling it out without rubbing it in oil on the tube/ distorting your findings?
Maybe I am just a slow learner.
Oh and I have 13k miles already!!!

I check once a week. Always check first thing in the morning before starting. Gives a good indication of level. There is an art to getting it back in and I can't explain it.
So far no oil loss at 9,200 miles.

The dipstick is hard to read but it helps if you have a lot of light. I let it hang down and move it around in bright light and then I can see the line of oil seperate from what comes off the tube. I have 10000 miles, no oil change, and have used a about a quart of oil.
