Hello, I've been following this thread with great interest since I'll be following the same path. Spent some time with the RealOEM parts diagrams & think I can follow the req'd part numbers. The five parts you ordered are specific to the level cargo floor option. The fasteners you need are # 8 & # 9 on the level cargo floor list. #9 is a rivnut, it is expanded with a special tool to create a threaded hole in prepunched sheet metal. Then the Torx screw has something to thread into. It also looks like parts 6 & 7 are required, # 7 has a different part number for level cargo floor vs the pn for it on the Trim panel, trunk floor diagram. A good parts man should be able to verify all of this. Your photos are extremely helpful. Would it be possible to send a shot of the floor panel itself? Thanks-- I'm going to start pursuing parts.

 

You are exactly right and me and the parts guy have been racking our brains to see if we can come up with a work around. First off every single stupid little part comes from Germany Then they send the nut with out the screw and even if I had the screw, I still need something to punch the sheet metal for that nut. And Mini doesnt have that tool. I don't know if I'll ever get this thing to work. So close but so far. We were going to try a different screw and nut set up. I'll keep you posted haven't had time to mess with it this week.

I didn't forget just been swamped at work. Bottom line I'm going to have to drill some holes and figure out away to screw the supports to the brackets. It will get done. And I won't forget to post.

I'm still waiting for a Mini work around before I start punching holes in my boot.
I'm going to call the parts guy soon to see if anything popped up. But for now it's a no go and frustrating.

 

No news? no pictures? another year without flat floor?

 

I would have been easier and a lotn quicker to have just traded in your non flat load floor MINI for a new build with flat load floor installed from the factory.

Just build one out of wood and cover it with carpet, thats what the factory one looks like to me any way. Some plywood, piano hinge and some no backing carpet and there you have it. Probably cost you under 50 bucks. Thats my plan, I will take the 200 bucks I saved on that and put it towards something else for the CM.

 

Main problem, in my advice, will be how to place it because you dont have the plastic supports in both sides of boot .....
If you are a good DIY man.... may be that's is not a problem.. for me is a headache... I can't found how to sustain it.. some way a bit solid... because without supports the risk is that brokes with the day you puts some heavy bag.... (sorry, my spaglish becames everyday worst...)

 

I was looking at the supports and the way it mounts and I was thinking a hard wood routed out to mimic the stock side supports. The metal shafts mounted onto the floor itself to fit into the side supports can be found in a hardware store. When I get my CM I will have to figure it all out then. Seems like there is a strong aftermarket for this part since Mini is falling down on the job of selling them outside a car purchase. When we ordered our CM back in Nov the salesman told us if we wanted the floor we better order it because he has been trying to get one for almost a year for another customer.

 

Hi! is crazy... in Spain salesman says there is not aftermarket solution! ... even waiting.... crazy--I'm very happy with my car.. but not at all with my boot... Please, dont forgot put some pictures if you have succes mounting it...

 

If you use a single piece of plywood you could mount some legs in the corners. Also, do you have the equivalent of a five pound coffee can. I use them in my boot and they just fit height wise under my home made flat load floor. one in each corner velcroed to the bottom of the boot could support the floor and they provide contained storage for all sorts of things.

Not five pound coffee can in my country... but i will search somthing like this... (i look for your boot pictures.. very nice.. really flat.. but all pictures are of the high level, any of the bottom... (with corners and / or cans..)..

TX! but... main problem is not the floor itself... the problem are all plastic suports around the boot...

 

My 2013 is sans flat floor option so interested what the end game was here or if there is now a better solution other them Mini parts or DIY?

 

Seems to be some upholstery work needed for this mod including some sort of bonding agent to mold the carpeting around the plastic side rail supports. And that would probably take up some of the OEM fabric back there, so is a whole new rear carpeting also required for this mod.

So far all the parts are not even available for this as well. No prices on some either.

IMO, I would head to a fabric shop and then a lumber yard and just do what we did for the earlier MINI's in making the rear seat deletes....build a frame/plywood, spray glue and fabric.

I tried it and your right the problem is the plastic supports, they only line up with two of the holes, the third hole is just air there's no metal to be drilled. So I only drilled two holes and it holds pretty good with the OEM bolts. It was a real pain in the butt getting all the parts and bolts. But it's holding so far, it's been about a year. I'll have to see if I still have the pictures to post.

 

I am still in Germany for about 2 more months. I wonder if I can try to get one installed while here.

I think I will be visiting the local MINI place on Monday to ask if it's possible for a 2013... (Out of town until then.)

(And yes, I know it's $500 in parts alone!)

 

I just got a 2011 CMS All4 and it's missing the boot cover/floor and no Flat load floor setup, the space between the seats is the problem for my dogs, it looks like Weather Tech makes a cargo liner $109 , I'm waiting to find out if with seats down it covers the space, if so it may be strong enough to prevent Ned and Fergie from falling in the 'ole

 

Alas yet another dead end with flat load floor solution the Weather Tech mat only covers the boot are behind the seats not the space between seats , I surrender

 

Check ECS tuning. They stock the factory pieces.
