just to add..... there was some talk about dealers adding $250 for the load flat floor that is required for our cars with the bench seat option. As far as my dealer is concerned, what they did was just take that off as a discount... so in essence, with my motor-tober discount of $750, they gave me $1000 in addition to the agreed upon discount when I ordered the car... so in my case, it was $2k off MSRP... but with an additional $250 to the original price I was quoted... all in all, not bad.... so your mileage might vary depending on your dealership....

My MA said they had no choice but to add the flat load charge to my deal. I ordered the car on 10/29 and the factory add on charge was implemented on all cars built after 11/1. But I wasn't really too upset since my overall pricing was similar to your pricing structure. I couldn't expect them to absorb the cost.

So, y'all are telling us that after waiting for the bench, you get told that no matter when you ordered it, they're going to hit you with a suprise charge for something that should be standard? This sounds a whole lot like the activity that usually goes on in the back seat.

Sealy - Who knows that every time a sales person says "I tell you what I'll do . . .", you're not going to get a kiss afterward.

I anticipate some sort of disagreement with my MA when the $250 fee for the no charge bench seat comes up . I'm sure they're going to ask me to pay for at least a portion of it, but they had me sign the order sheet twice and it was not on it. It could get ugly. He did not bring it up Saturday when I last talked to him, but it's bound to come up very soon since my car should be delivered this week.

I noticed that that online configurator now shows that the $250 flat load floor is a mandatory option when selecting the no charge bench.

Reminds me of the mandatory arm rest I bought with the MINI connect. The one I still don't have a cradle for and is pretty much useless with the new IOS.

Just picked up my MINI, with 9 miles on the odometer! They had a big red bow on her windshield! So cute! I checked my paperwork, and did indeed pay for the flat load floor, but got my Motortober discount, the ultra cool bench seat, and everything else I asked for (including the black roof), so am not complaining. Not as great a deal as asaulo, but my MA said all the 6 CM with bench seats they got in last Friday were already sold! At least I got to choose exactly the options I wanted, and it looks incredible! Did anyone spring for the extra maintenance &/or insurance packages? Zxilon protection?

Congratulations on getting your CM. You had a really long wait.

What is the Zxilon protection and what does it do? I'm not a big believer in owner pay warranties and various magic potions that protect paint and fabrics, but I've never heard of this particular one.

I think the translation for "Zxilon protection" means your getting screwed in English.

I picked mine up on Christmas Eve as planned! Unfortunately, it started raining when we were on our way to the dealership, and hasn't stopped since! We've had a nasty drought all summer here in Houston, so we've been praying for rain for like 8 months, but the ONE DAY I DIDN'T want it to rain...

I haven't been able to get any good pics because of the rain, and now it's all dirty, too, of course. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow, so I'm going to try to get my car washed and get some pics tomorrow, or at the very least Wednesday.

I have to take him back into the dealer to get my boot stripes, mud flaps, and window tint done, so he's not completely finished yet, but I'm sure enjoying the heck out of driving him! Barnaby had 5 miles on him when I picked him up, and he's already up to 100! Can't wait to get some good pics of him, but I'm loving seeing everyone else's "Christmas Minis!" Congratulations to everyone, and happy holidays!

Congrats, Ann!!! Same problem with weather for pics here - cloudy and dark. I posted one in my gallery, but need to get a nicer backdrop. Hard to find one in wintry WI, at least until we get some snow.

The Zxilon protection is a a "molecular adhesion" sealant for the fabric and paint, but apparently most of the cost is for the warranty. I will likely opt out, especially after reading a few of the reviews.

We passed on the Zxilon, but went for the extended warranty & extended maintenance, as well as the tire/wheel plan (mostly because of what I've heard about the runflats) and the "dent and ding" warranty, which will apparently cover anything up to the size of a softball. I normally would have skipped that one, but I park on the street at work, and also because apparently law students really just don't care if they slam their door into your car. We also went with LoJack--partly for the recovery, and partly for the insurance break.

Fortunately, today is a lovely, bright, sunny day (if cold), so I'm going to try to take Barnaby to the hand car wash near work at lunch, and get some pics this afternoon. Fortunately things are pretty dead here today, and my boss is out of town, so I think I can get away with it.

Okay, maybe this is a dumb question, but I keep hearing about a motortober discount... What is this?

MotorTober was a MINI marketing event back in October. Each dealership had a specific date and time when the event took place. If you attended the event you were elligible for a $750 rebate. The rebate turns into a pumpkin on January 3rd so some of us who ordered cars in October and have not taken delivery are now at risk of losing the rebate.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I want to be sure I'm aware of any and all deals on the CM.

I hope those of you with the motortober discount are able to get your cars in time to get your rebate!

First bench seat in Reno

After all this wait the dealer delivered the first bench seater in town with a box sticking through the back covering "the bench seat." I had my dogs with me when I picked up the car so I don't care anyway but it is ironic.

This is the worst bench seat picture you will ever see - except they're my dogs and I thing they're the best .

Cooper (as in Anderson - not MINI) is on the left and Zen (cuz he's really not) is on the right.

@Fredo - Poochstyles has a rear bench seat cover for your pups. In the "Size" drop down box you will see the option for the bench seat model. These fit over the seat backs and attach to the seat slider handles at the bottom front. IMHO, this is a much better design than MINI's "half-pipe" back seat cover.

They also have cargo area mats. All of their products are custom fit and sewn for our MINIs. Poochstyles make a high quality product and they are VERY supportive of MINI-based charity events. Good folks.

Congrats! Not too often you can see a Cooper fit inside another Cooper!

Are your seats plaid?!

Thanks everyone! I took the afternoon off so I could play with my car. From the mod standpoint, here is where I stand:
- De-yokling the front turn signal and side repeaters - check!
- Red 4's covering the brown 4's (which don't look that bad on Royal Grey) - Check!
- Window tint with 15 in back and 35 in front - Check!

One fly in the ointment is the flat load floor.
First - MINI is pretty gutsy with option pricing, but a mandatory charge of $250 for a piece of press board?? They're pushing it on that one.
Second - It can't be removed!!! I was hoping to put my bike in the car with the rear wheel in the boot well but that flat load floor is killing that idea. I'm going to have to find a way to make that floor removable (anyone done it yet??)

Other than that life is good. Almost 100 miles the first 24 hours. Tomorrow is the exhaust tip install in the morning then I drive back to the Bay Area with a small detour by Tahoe so I can take some better pictures!
