Thus showing what happens when you license sheep to drive.

I'd say that's a good assessment of the Juke - I couldn't sit in the back.

I started my desire of changing car because Countryman ... identical external size and 4wd with a turbo engine ..but... boot is really small... MPG is worst.. and NOT XENON even in option... and in spain not ·moonroof option... I started looking for other cars accomplishing my desired specs and oly Countryman S All4 accomplish all.. (only price was out of briefing, but.... i has a "coup de coeur"... and at this moment I'm happy with my choice

BTW, wound up not going with the Juke, the rear seat is awful (did not really sit back there in the first test drive), and was having a hard time finding the one we wanted. We got a new Mazda3 5 door, instead.

Interesting. I had a Mazdz3 GT 5 door, first gen. One of the bestest and most funest cars I've ever owned. Would have very happily traded in the BMW on a new one, but the whiz bang re-do just does not appeal to me. Still a great little car, though. Enjoy!

Sure, but the numbers mean nothing when MINI is selling every CM it can make and people are waiting for 2011 order slots...

Of course there are going to be more Jukes on the road, they have a lot and are trying to sell them. I'm surprised the number is not 4x for the Juke, to me that says they are having some trouble moving them. But then new car sales are down all over... except for MINI of course.

Yea great debate in the Mazda community between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 looks, I'm more a fan of the new one, I love the big fenders. My wife fell in love with the car in Velocity Red, and we got a great deal on it. Either way it's a fantastic car to drive (as was the Gen 1), the 2.5 is an amazing little engine, and the car handles better than anything I've driven under $25k thats not a Mini.

More interesting. Mine was also VR - tied with Autumn Orange as my favorite colors. Put a coat of wax on it and park it in the sun and it's amazing. It's a three layer paint color - love the sparkle.

To continue our completely off topic digression, here are some pics

As you can see the CM gets the driveway.

I would drive a MS3 if they got better gas mileage.

Each of us has their own priorities. If you look at a MS3 and think "gas mileage", you are probably not the target demographic.

Yes but, shouldn't we all be looking at MPG . Now that said, I am surpised the MS3 does not get better MPG, still it is a fun car to drive.

Thats why you go with the s , but seriously the 2.5 is a nice performing engine, and gets decent gas mileage.

My future Son-in-law is looking for a new car so we went to test drive on last Saturday they has a manual one for test drive. That car felt slow as hell , its was in sport mode, and we tried different modes still no power. The gauge show full boost.
Then I told him why it felt so slow, he drove my Z there, after that he drove the juke. An 550hp car vs 180hp .

Well it all went well he end up getting the Fully loaded Maxima

I can't believe anyone even thought that much of the Juke to compare it to the CM! The Juke looks like it is a mistake.

See it going down the Aztek Path within the next 12 months. Not to my liking, and really not sure why the comparison. Although the CM really has no competitors! It stands alone at the top! But hey, I am partial to mine......

I think the Juke would have been really successful if it had a lot more power, basically an answer to the WRX with more "XTreeme" styling. But as it is, like you say it doesn't feel like it has a lot of power, and the AWD version especially is CVT automatic only!! That seemed nuts to me and made it seem even slower.

I personally think the CM feel very powerful but I'm sure it would also pale next to the Z (which a friend of mine had for a while).

Test drove the Countryman first, THEN went to test drive a Juke. Didn't even leave the lot. There was no comparison and I knew immediately sitting in the drivers seat of the Juke, in the lot, that there was no way in Hell that I was getting this over my mini....

I now own the Mini and lovin the heck out of driving this car.....

Definitely no regrets

I own a Rogue AWD with CVT and it's the reason why I am now getting a Mini 6-speed manual All4. The detached-ness and rubber-band like delay of the CVT made me swing the other way and go to a manual.

Take another look at the Juke, it has four doors, the door handles are hidden. Another car that can be compared to the CM and Juke is the Mitsuibishi ASX, similar size, AWD option.

Apparently, like so many interesting car models, not available in the US.

ghamma - another inconvenient truth

It's available here as the "Outlander Sport." Doesn't have the styling, quality interior, or the power to match the Countryman or Juke though.

Thanks, oog, I couldn't get that from comparing European and US Mitsubishi website info.
