R60 $1000 off Countryman price
My MA is Mark, and he said he'd get back to me with an update today, but he hasn't yet. Last night, he e-mailed me at 10PM, so I guess it's still possible that I'll hear from him, but it sounds like you're getting better communication from your guy.
If the coupon is email-able, any chance someone can email me a copy?
I ask because my dealer's event is on May 27th and my estimated delivery date is the 21st...
If not, I'm sure I can work it out with them, but having something in-hand would be better. PM me if you're willing and I'll respond with my email address.
TIA and cheers,
Tad

I went to an event on a Friday and received my coupon by e-mail that Monday. The guys at MINI said the marketing people (an independent firm MINI hired—not MINI employees) had to get back to their office and enter all the info before the coupons got sent out. YMMV

I don't think you can e-mail it. You have to go, sign up with a marketing firm that runs the event, and then they send you a coupon with a unique code by e-mail. If I forwarded you mine, for example, I can't see how they'd take it at your dealership, since it has a unique code on it, and it mentions my dealership specifically.

Anyhow, hope I can get my MA to capitulate on this one... maybe I'll tell them I'll buy the extended warranty if they give me the discount.
Cheers,
Tad
The fine print in my email said that it has to have YOUR name on it. So if you didn't get the email, you are SOL. As far as I understood it anyway. Mine came from my local dealer.
Offer valid to the recipient whose name is on the email/letter/certificate or any family member residing within the same household. Email/letter/certificate is not transferable to anyone not residing in the same household. Proof of identification/residency is required.
I have received word from MINIUSA representative that the certificate can be used at any participating MINI dealers. However, MINIUSA wouldn't go into specific as whether the $1000 discount is good off MSRP or the final negotiated price.
Thanks for writing MINI.
The gift certificate is valid at any authorized, participating MINI dealer, no matter which event location you attended. For additional details, we suggest speaking directly with the sales team at your local MINI dealer. A list of our authorized MINI dealers categorized by address or ZIP Code can be found on our website at: www.MINIUSA.com, under “Shop,” “Find a MINI dealer.”

Wow... I just got off the phone with 'Monica' at the MINI usa number above, and I hope my experience is not going to be indicative of the coming relationship with my new dealer/mfr.
My local dealership has been in the process of an ownership transition (from Rasmussen to Lithia) which I understand takes some attention, but a call yesterday elicited no information regarding the upcoming event (apparently May 27th, per Facebook, though the dealer knew nothing about it at all).
I opted to call MINI today to try to register, or at least get more information or get on 'the list'. I got a customer service rep named Monica on the line, and when I asked about the event, it was immediately evident that she had never heard of 'MINI Rocks the Rivals' at all and actually asked me to repeat it several times, after which, I could hear her typing (googling it?) in the background. After a long delay, she came back and asked me for my name, address, and phone number. I (wrongly) assumed this was to mail me information or provide my info to the dealer to get me on the list, however, at the conclusion of collecting my info (I did opt not to give her my phone number) she said that she had no information on the event, that I would have to contact the dealer, and when I asked why she had taken my info, she said that they collected all that information 'because it's our protocol for these types of calls.'
I'm scratching my head here, and more than a bit disappointed in the support... am I out of line to think that between MINI corporate and my local dealer, someone ought to know something about an event that's three weeks away?
Normally I say 'Cheers' here, but today it's just a solid 'meh'

Call a MA at Portland MINI and they at least know that the event is still happening. Larry(?) my new MA indicated that he was told to be there for the event but didn't know about the coupon. He did mention that it would be something that could be applied to a previously ordered CM if you take delivery after the event so that's good news.
I'll try mine tomorrow. She has been good, but was 'in a meeting' so I got someone else who didn't know a thing about it. She did advise me that I would be eligible for any promotions offered in the interim between order and delivery...
Thanks for the scoop. If she doesn't know, I guess I'll just show up.
Cheers,
Tad

You can pay however you want. It's independent of payment.
I went to the event on 5/6. I knew of the $1000 voucher prior to going. Did the test drive, used the voucher that day. (In addition to my negotiated deal) All in all the voucher worked great. Used my own financing....

Well, there goes my $1000. Guess what my MA e-mailed me last night?
Ummm, what? A week after I place an order, I find out that my car isn't 8 or 9 weeks away, but actually four months? I'm assuming "a 2012" means at least September.
Your Countryman may end up being a 2012. MINI sent a bulletin out on Friday. We are waiting for more info from MINI USA. This is all I can tell you for now until we have further updated info from MINI.
Just found out that the $1000 is transferable from dealer to dealer, so if you can get to a "rocks the rivals" event at any dealer that still has one, you can come back to your dealer and use the coupon, so long as the car is delivered by 7/5.
At this point, that probably means no Countryman, FYI. They're drying up and wait times are getting much longer. But the deal applies to any MINI, so if you're itching for an extra $1000 of the post-negotiated price on anything else, it's apparently worth getting your butt to whatever dealer in your area is still having an event.

What the guys at the dealership told me is that the whole thing is run by an outside marketing firm and that the coupons don't get sent out until they get off the road, back to their office, and type everything in.
However, they should have a copy of the form the person filled out when you signed in, and my MA said that should be good enough for them to give me the discount. So just make sure that your MA goes and finds that slip of paper if you're worried about getting the e-mail.

The event that I attended to was not hosted at my dealer so I am a bit more anxious as my dealer probably won't have any record of me attending the event. My dealer will host the event this Thursday, so if I don't receive the email coupon by then, I guess I will try to attend the event again after work.
