How appropriate that the delivery vessel for our valued new arrivals, Auriga Leader, means lead charioteer.

Imagine the Auriga (a carefully selected trustworthy slave) driving the biga, a light vehicle powered by two horses, to deliver important personages.

Fenton must be feeling really important as he nears the end of this part of the journey, what with all this special treatment.

Whew!

The Auriga Leader is definitely at Port Hueneme now, off loading our precious cargo for primping, polishing, and prepping before the MINIs get loaded onto motor transport for the final trip to the dealers. It's been an exciting passage with the trip through the Panama Canal and many of us learning how to track ships in transit.
As our interest in this fine ship fades, the plans for welcome-home parties take center stage and the dealers will be experiencing the final push of, "When will my MINI be mine?"

Studying the approach records, it seems the Auriga Leader was a little reluctant to part with its excellent passengers. It's possible the MINIs had to take over the ship to finally reach their destination.

It definitely was a 'cherry on top' kind of experience for this whole journey that has been taking place for past couple months!

Got to see our star vessel, Auriga Leader, unloading of BMW and MINIs, lined up 'new' cars, and got to know lots of insider, behind the scene information.

I will post some pictures and complete story soon!!

Unfortunately, however, while I saw many Countryman unloading, time ran out and couldn't see my MINI. The suspense continues....

and... my Countryman is now at the dealer!!

That was Fast! After the arrival at Port Hueneme on May 12, it only took 2 days to be delivered to the dealership! Exciting stuff!

Are your CMs at your dealer? When do you plan on taking delivery? If any of you guys are in So.Cal, I propose Auriga Leader after party meeting!

Thanks for the photo tour of Port Hueneme and the many MINIs arriving. I didn't see Fenton, but I enjoyed the colorful collection of cars.

I got the word last night that my CM4 had arrived. Fenton looks great, and dealer prep will only be a few hours. I'm coordinating delivery with the MINI Rocks the Rivals events to take advantage of the additional $1000 off - negotiated with my MA and dealer. We'll probably be MINI-fied Friday or Saturday.

Thanks for sharing the journey with us, end-to-end.

Same here. No bright yellow Monty amongst all those other great looking Countryman, but great shots none the less. Thanks for the effort and sharing!

@ghamma - mind if I ask which dealer you're picking up from? Mine is arriving in port on 5/18 and coming to Steven's Creek, I'm trying to get a sense of actual time from arrival in port to ready for pickup.

My CM4, Fenton, is waiting for me to pick him up on Thursday at MINI of Stevens Creek. The dates are in my signature - once hitting the shore things happened pretty fast.
