R60 Is This Your First Mini?
yes, first Mini. 6 years ago I hesitate between mini cooper S and forfour brabus. i was choosed smart forfour because more performances and less people having one. happy with my choice , great car, but too much low for bad roads and too much torque for very light car in icy roads..

First MINI, second new car. I initially was looking at the Cooper S and Clubman S because I thought the Countryman S was too expensive haha. I needed something that would have enough room for a car seat and possibly an adult in the back, fuel efficient, speedy and decent in bad weather. Did lots of research and read tons of good stuff about all of those things. When we got to the dealership, the Cooper S just seemed too small in the back seat and I didn't like the Clubman S when I saw it in person. So, we left with a Countryman S - go figure! Love it!
Hopefully, by the time you get to family of 5, they'll have a bench seat. After that, you're on your own.
Sorry, I just had to throw that in.
Sealy - Who echos Joan - No more bench seats!

First Mini
This is my first mini. Great dealer and salesman Dennis at hassel motors Freeport NY. I have an excursion and a honda ridgeline. Love cars that handle looked at 3 series and it was not as much fun interior wise as the mini. mini connect way cool. Always liked mini always seemed fun but to small. Like the all wheel drive idea because I hate torque steer. Was afraid of repair issues but after a great test drive on a twisty road and those paddle shifters I was hooked. Needed good gas mileage. I might get regular tires and ditch the run flats to air down so I can go on the beach. If my friends subies can do it maybe the countryman can. Have had my countryman since feb 18 and just love it. Getting 26 mpg, and ripping on off ramps. Faster than it looks especially at a rolling start at 40 mph. Caught me a lot of cars that were supposed to be faster

Love Barcelona, btw!
1st
This my 2nd new vechical and 1st Mini. I was looking at a bunch of different cars, coming from a full size chevy truck with 4/w i wanted something that could get through the snow here in Indiana, and finally decided on the CM i like the size and some of the other options taht you get and this is the only one that is really awd and in my price range. Not unfalimier with small cars i have a 86 VW GTI, so the smaller cars i like and i think i will enjoy driving Panthro around all season YAH
but the suspense is killing me waiting and waiting

This is my first MINI. The car is really starting to grow on me and I am very please with my purchase. I came from a Silverado pick up and I am happy to be back in a small car again. The interior is very solid feeling and looks great. I wish it were faster but that is my only complaint.
First mini, a co-worker has had two mini's loved the look but seemed to small and not practical. Then came the Countryman. Love at first site, test drove in Feb. ordered in March. Awaiting delivery hopefully next week. Makes Port on Wed. in Baltimore. Also love the fact that it recieved the highest safety rating this year by the insurance institute.
Not to worry, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should*. Just to make you feel better - you do know that I'll have mine a couple of days before you.

Desiderata - One of my very favorites. What can I get with those bonus points?
We'll come up with something special to cash them in on.
This is my first mini as well....ive always wanted it since it first debuted and a close friend of mine had it...but totally forgot about it until recently that i needed to find a 3rd car....I test drove a bunch of various brands around the same price point but they were all just BLEH...not impressive whatsover..hybrids, and other small cars....Finally, i decided to just go to the mini dealer after sitting in one back in 2002...Well, to my surprise, the car just felt right...im 6'2 and 250 pounds but the car has plenty of space for me...WOW...i first thought Mini, No way...im too large for the car and it might be regarded a bit feminine...ive always wanted to buy this car for my wife btw, but she hates it....So i was like...even women dont like it..eh...well who cares...i then drove it and it was amazing..solid like a rock and stiff as hell...couldnt be any happier...no toy or hond could ever drive like this....and the doors...heavy and thick...and it makes the unique BMW sound when u shut it...i was sold! all the loaner kias and toys i drove, the doors felt like tin cans...i love it...too bad its only begun the production stage =(
Sealy - Who welcomes you to the R60 waiting room
Glad to see a few 3rd and 4th time MINI owners. For us, this will be our 5th. Yes, it is a sickness. But, it’s one that I am willing to live with!
1. ’06 Purple Haze Convertible Cooper S
2. ’06 British Racing Green Cooper S Hardtop (Husband got jealous of mine and wanted his own)
3. ’80 English White Classic Mini
4. ’08 Hot Chocolate Clubman S (needed more room since the little one was getting bigger)
5. ’11 Absolute Black Countryman All4 with Light Tobacco Cloth/Leather, Red Sports Stripes, Cold Weather, Premium, Automatic, Anthracite 17” Wheels, Connect/Nav, and lots of other goodies.
Vader, as we are calling him, is supposed to be in California tomorrow and making his way up the Coast soon. Hopefully he will be here with his clearbra and window tinting completed by the first weekend in May. Fingers are crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Just so we don't appear completely crazy ... with this purchase we are down to just the Classic and the Countryman. Convertible traded for the Clubman. Husband is selling his MINI to finance his passion for Pro3 Racing, and the Clubman is being traded to help pay for all the goodies on the Countryman.)

The CM I ordered today is my first MINI. I've driven a Jeep Liberty since 2002. It was a great car for me, but two years ago, I got a new job that involves a 35 mile highway commute each way. So there was no way I was going to continue life at 19 mpg indefinitely.
I was always jealous of my friend's MCS, but the MCS is too small for us and our two dogs, and since I have to commute in questionable weather sometimes (I'm a teacher, and if school isn't canceled, I need to be there on time), I really wanted 4WD.
The CM is the first car I've seen in two years of searching that fit all my criteria: 30 highway mpg (actually better than my goal of 27 while I was searching), AWD, and hatchback and folddown seats so the dogs can have lots of space on normal days and decent space when we pack for vacation.
Not only did the car fit all those criteria, but I totally fell for it in person and during the test drive. I know it's not as zippy as an MCS, but compared to the Jeep it's a total sports car and amazingly fun to drive.
So I guess that was a long answer to a short question, but I pulled the trigger and ordered my CM today, so I'm more than a little excited.
