btw, the anthracite headliner is just that, a headliner, not a $2 piece of plastic.

Um I guess I should have quoted Sealy we were talking about the dash trim which is not a headliner and is in fact a piano black piece of plastic. We ordered the anthracite headliner as well and you are correct it is not a piece of plastic but a $250 hit for a color that should be a no cost option.

I agree - the 'cockpit surface' should be no cost option when choosing 'interior surface piano black'. I did it just so they would match. Can't wait to see all the fingerprints! Maybe they'll modify the options to charge $250 for both.

At least with the anthracite headliner I won't have to worry as much about chocolate-covered finger smudges.

Yea there are a ton of pieces to it, to actually change it over yourself would be well over a $1000. But the real point I would guess is to make the pieces in the factory dark gray instead of beige costs probably nothing.

Still the same poor logic goes into the $250 for the anthracite or piano **** pit surface. Your not paying so much for the material, but the right to customize.

Question Anthracite headliner not available on a 2012 pepper white/black mini???

So, the dealer, after my ordering a pepper white MC with black top, standard blk seats/chrome line with anthracite headliner...and seeing in the 'lounge/check status' order info that it doesn't have the headliner... I call and he tells me that, no they didn't forget to put it on the order, but that I cannot order the anthracite headliner with a pepper white exterior... does this sound honest? or did they just forget to add it and are trying to change reality by using the "If i say it, it becomes REAL." trick?

Sounds like BS to me!

I ordered a Pepper White CM with Black Top and anthracite headliner, no problem.

turns out you are correct and my suspicions were valid. I now have my mini on order with the headliner. Thanks.

It's not very obvious that the headliner is beige when you are configuring the car on the MINI site, and I just assumed the headliner would match the carbon black leatherette, and piano black surfaces. Not until I rebuilt my CM the day after I placed my order did I realize that the headliner is beige and doesn't match the rest of the interior. I called the dealer and they said they'd try to put a call in before it went into production, I hope they can change it.

DITTO.....I did the same thing, the only thing that gives you a hint of color is that little piece of pilar sticking out the left side. You would think by now your MA would have at least made a suggestion.
