I am sooooo happy to see these posts. I currently drive my second Mini Cooper S and was so bummed thinking the Countryman might not be able to accommodate an infant seat AND a passenger. Turning in the mini won't be so sad when I'm driving off the lot in a Countryman! Thanks for the detailed posts and the pictures! Now I know what brands to register for!

Plenty of room for what you need in a Countryman. I have a 2012 with the rear buckets now. The first time I tried a Countryman was when I had my R56 and got a 2011 Countryman as a loaner. The first thing I did was tose the driver's seat for me and then get in behind it. I'm 6'4", with long legs, and I fit with room to spare.
