Mini countryman- Next or Last?

A major Press party will be held in Austin Texas in the next week or so to present this and the complete line-up from MINI for 2011. Will this be the next or last hooray for the fabled Mini brand? The first Mini Countryman was introduced in 1961- Is this a continuation or an evolution?

My opinion (fwiw) is that the Countryman is a continuation of the evolution of MINI.

The 'Core" to which you referred looks like a severely softened R56. The idea is interesting, but I can't see MINI doing anything that radical in the near future.
