Designed my countryman on UK website....

Just designed my countryman on the UK website with all the options i have on my current clubman with the exception that i added navigation and MINI connected. I converted the british pounds to american dollars to get an idea about cost. I was astounded at the cost. It came out to $49000.

No chance they are going to sell a lot of these in the states if indeed the conversion to the american market as far as cost is similar.

Anybody know if over the years the british cost has been "higher" or very similar to the US prices?

If I'm spending $50000 on a SUV and i have the choice of a countryman or X3 (with more room, etc.) that to me is a no brainer.

Always much higher. Actually the US has the lowest prices worldwide! As a point of comparison, you should configure other MINI models on the UK site.

I did do a clubman s with all my same options.

It was very similar to the sticker msrp. Maybe a little higher than normal.
I'm worried as I'm very interested but not if the price is that high.
Guess I'll just be patient.
