Color Me Curious

Hi there,

I've just convinced myself that it's time to get a MINI S. I used the configurator at miniusa.com to create many different prototypes and am having trouble choosing a color. Does anyone have an idea what the most common color combinations are? In all the brochures, Blue/White and Red/White seem to be the flavor of the day. I want to be different and choose a less common flavor. Any suggestions on what the rare and more exotic flavors are?

Thanks,

Generally speaking...

... monochrome cars are a fewer on the ground that two-tone ones. That said, pick a color you like and can live with. Personally, solid Lightning Blue (the dark one), BRG, Mellow Yellow, Pepper White or either Sparkling or Pure Silver would be my favorites. You can't go wrong with a monochrome Black car, although that is the most common single-tone Mini color.

Welcome to NAM! Best of luck in your search.

Have you seen the new yellow in person? It's real sweet and different than just about any yellow I've seen before.

If you're looking for most unique, there are currently 0 Nightfire Red on the road (they start production this week). That's only for the base MC however.

Based on my own encounters and the colors people list in here, totally without any statistical support, I think the best uncommon color is british racing green.

Just remember, the Pepper White ones are known to be more reliable, fuel efficient and faster! (waiting for lightning to strike me)

LynnEl I think youre right, BRG seems to be the color I have seen the least of both on the road and here on NAM.

Welcome to NAM!!! I agree wth the others BRG is seen less. The new Mellow Yellow is also nice. Very Bright. Dark Silver is my favorite but thats a decision only you can make. Keep looking and your color will jump out and grab you.

Don't fret over picking a color based on how rare it is. Pick the color combo you like best. Then you can order some cool aftermarket stripes or other graphics to make it unique
Oh yeah & Welcome to NAM

Thanks for the info. I plan on going back to the dealership on the 14th to test drive the automatic S. I test drove the manual S which was fun but since I have never owned an automatic and am tired of doing the left leg dance in rush hour traffic, I want to drive that before I get it. I will take a closer look at the colors again when I'm there. I like the BRG and dark silver. The good thing about the MINI is that there are soooooo many choices. The bad thing about the MINI is that there are soooooo many choices.

Bite your tongue!

I'm not sure they'll have automatic MCS on the lot then. To my understanding they only recently started production.

We love our "Purple Haze" the PC American name for the real color name of "Black-Eyed Purple"

I don't know if they make them anymore - ours is a 2005. But I can say that having a unique color is a terrific idea.

Can't get any more purple haze. It came & went in 3 months/6 months, or something like that

DS monocolor for us. Reds and blues are the most common around here. This being Texas, most have white tops.
