Week 11 Production
Finally!
I have been waiting and waiting for someone to post a Week 11 thread. I did not want to start one myself because I started seeing too many posts originated by me!
I have been told that I am Week 11, but the OL still says on order.
All I am hoping for is delivery on or before the weekend of May 12 as I leave on vacation for 2 weeks on the 15th. With my luck, the car will be available on the 15th and it will sit outside in the hot sun and cook for 2 weeks while I am away.
Cooper S, SS/B, Redwood Red Lounge Leather
Premium and Sport and a handfull of other options.

My OL also says the same thing. According to the dealership OL is behind on updating the information.
ASK MINI didnt have a specific production date, but knowing the week was enough to alleviate some of my anticipation!

just heard from my MA!
apparently, they ran out of flat black top paint at the factory due to high demands but Peppy will be completed sometime next week and will board ship for the 28 day voyage to California!

My MCS is scheduled for week 11 too. I can barely wait! When the guy at 1-866-ASK-MINI asked, "Is there anything else I can do for you, sir?" I said, "there sure is! Speed up time? Please? PLEASE?" He refused... Something about not being able to control time or something.
i'm sure everyone knows how to track their Mini's and such, but this article was still fun to read!

I've got a ship assigned. Hoepfully little Jayne will make it onto the Maersk Wind when it stops in Southampton tomorrow. Then its nineteen days at sea to Port Hueneme. Maybe I'll take the day off and go ship watching up there.
Go here: http://www.2wglobal.com/www/customer...LaunchPage.htm
Click on "Auto cargo" under "TRACK BY" on the right side of the page
Enter your VIN in the Cargo ID box
If your MINI has been assigned to a vessel/voyage the details will come up on a new page. If not, you'll get an error message saying "No tracking information is available for the Cargo ID you entered".
If you are booked on a voyage, click on the voyage number (in my case EX705-MTE) and you should see your MINI's status. Mine is "Received at Terminal 14/02/2007".
This page also lists the "Booking Number". Make a note of the number (copy it), click on "Track By Booking Number" on the right side of the page and enter the number into the "Booking Number" field. Click the "Track" button and you should see a list of ALL the MINI's loaded on the vessel. Mine currently has 213 vehicles loaded! Click on the "Printer Friendly Version" link for a full listing.
Hope that helps. Sorry if I confused anyone....

So I looked at the Booking Numbers and mine is 3rd on the list of 359. Does this mean I'll be assured a spot??? I don't want to get left behind!
And are all the vehicles MINIs, or do other manufacturers sneak on as well?

Things seem to be falling into place for a great first trip for me.
First, the great news - my MA emailed me today to let me know they expect Jayne to be at the dealer on April 4 or 5. Woohoo! Just one week!
Second, I found out that I may need to attend a conference in San Francisco for work. I'd get to drive from LA to San Fran on April 11, attend the conference on the 12-13, and then my wife would fly up for a weekend in San Fran, followed by a nice leisurely coastal drive back to LA on Sunday. Anyone know any good SF street with some twisties!!??!??? Yippee!
I just hope the boss gives final approval for the conference. I'll know on Monday.

So, does anyone know if the dealer will put on dealer installed options before I go in to sign the paperwork and pick up the car? I'm thinking no, because I don't own the car yet and can still walk away from the deal, so they probably wouldn't want to add additional specs to the car.
There's always Lombard Street. Although it isn't the most crooked street in San Francisco, that's what it's called. You just can't drive too fast because of the switchbacks and all of the tourists.
