Waiting to order satellite radio

Hello everyone! I've been wavering while I wait (just saw a VW Eos at an auto show) but plan to order a MC weekend after next. I'll be ordering from the dealership in Columbus, Ohio but I live in the Charleston WV area. Any 2007 owners from the Kanawha Valley out there? Also wavering on color combinations. I saw a great double stripe on one side of the car on one of the NAM posts in the R56 section. Do you just order a plain paint job and get those from the aftermarket? Any recommendations? Thanks!

MINI offers a couple of different stripe options (double down the middle - see my photo gallery), but I believe there are quite a few aftermarket graphics companies that offer different types of stripes. I'll leave it to others to tell you where to get them.

Welcome to NAM!

Chuck

I don't understand your thread title... are you also debating on ordering oem Sirius?

If so, having had it once, I've elected to use a Starmate unit on my current MINI, and I've ordered an S50 Sirius unit for my BMW 3 that's in production now.

I don't like paying $700-$800 for something I can get easily for less than $100 from the sattelite provider, and all that's needed is the aux input jack, which might even be standard now.

I have the aftermarket euro parcel shelf under the steering wheel (replaces the oem bolster) and I had my dealer install the aux port in it instead of in the glove box.

(if not, then... nevermind )

I'm with BartMack, I'm a bit confused.
Are you buying from MAG MINI in Dublin, Ohio?
MAG will do the factory Sirius for $375 installed (last time they quoted to me). I purchased a StarMate 3 on Ebay for $45 and I like it better than the HK with Sirius since I want the extra lines of info.
Pat Cordray at MAG did a great job on my deal last year.

thanks for the replies and advice!

Hey guys,

Thanks for the answers. I was wavering on whether to get the MINI since I'm going to be without transportation because of the March production limitations. Now it sounds like I'm going to have to wait longer than I thought! I want the Sirius with the lifetime subscription. It's nice to know I may have an option to have MAG in Dublin do something less expensive...I'll ask about it when I go up next weekend.

There's something on the configurator that leads me to believe there's also a March production issue on the automatic transmission on the MCS.

Pat Cordray has left MAG. Chad Simkins is the person I'm dealing with now.

I've already changed my mind about color and so I'm going to get an MCS to get the dark silver with black. I like the standard bonnet stripes with the black, so I think I'm okay there. Hopefully, I'll end up with something under $30k. I was also a little concerned about horsepower on the MC, especially living among these hills, but the dark silver is what I really wanted. High price for a color, but I think I'll be glad I switched!!

I haven't heard anyone say anything definite about the lifetime Sirius and the HD radio to be ready for the March build.

My wife uses the aftermarket Sirius radio and loves it. One nice feature is that you can easily move it to another car when the need arises.
