I had an indicator light come on this evening and I'm not sure what it means. I've temporarily misplaced my manual and I was wondering if someone on the list could tell me what a particular indicator light means.

I have a 2003 Cooper S with no navigation and it has the on-board computer.

On the speedometer display there are 7 circular indicators at the top under the numbers in a left to right semi-circle. (Parking break, etc) that come on when you start the car.

In the number 3 position from left to right, a Yellow indicator has come on. It's a circle inside a circle that has 3 hash marks on the left of the circle at 7, 8 and 9 o'clock as well as on the right side of the circle at 2, 3 and 4 o'clock. There is nothing inside the circle, no letters, graphic, etc.

It stays on constantly when the car is running. I looked on-line at a 2003 PDF manual and nothing in the indicators section looks like it. Anyone on the list know what this is and why it came on?

If someone could enlighten me that would be great.

brake pad indicator light. Change them to something other than stock...For less dust.
