I'm an (almost) owner!

Yay! It's official So I am finally getting my Mini after nearly five years of lusting after others. Mini of Manhattan found me almost the car I would have spec'd out myself if I had time to order from scratch. Soooo excited! Now I have to figure out how to get all those sig bells and whistles to work so I can be a 'real' NAM member!

This is my new baby:
2006 Cooper
CR/W
Premium
Sport
Cold
Chrome Line Exterior
White Bonnet Stripes
Anthracite
Black Leatherette

Woohoo! I could live without the chrome exterior and would have preferred chromeline interior... but I figure at some point in the future, I can add chrome inside (right?) and switch out the chrome mirrors for perhaps union jacks... but for now, I am totally thrilled! I've been thinking about naming this spunky new gal Lizzy Bennet after my favorite spunky literature heroine.

How cool! Congrats on finally taking the plunge! You won't regret it!

I just picked up my car last week...after more than a year of lusting for one...then had to wait the custom order torture, I mean time period...

It's all good though in the end! Mini's totally rock!

Thanks everyone! I am very excited. Though I just found out I may need knee surgery (waiting on the MRI) which would mean I'd be on crutches when Lizzy comes to NYC and since she's a standard, I'd be in deep doodoo (driving-wise). Here's praying for a non surgery-requiring diagnosis!

A couple of things... how do I add those cool badges to my sig?

Has anyone added chromeline interior or rear foglight aftermarket? Was it outrageously expensive?

You need to cheat a little on the Chromeline Interior. It's cheap EXCEPT for the tach. MINI will try to sell you a whole tachometer...that's expensive, so skip it. Go to one of several vendors and buy a chrome ring for your tach, and stick it on....game over.

The rear foglight is pretty reasonable, somewhere around $100-150 in parts. Even if you DIY, the stealership will have to code it into the car's computer for you. The labor isn't awfully bad for the rear fog from what I've heard.

Congrats on the car. You're gonna love it!

Thanks. MoM's accessory markup is pretty outrageous, so I'll probably be waiting on any upgrades. I really need to stop reading NAM tonight and hit the books!
